  • Looks like London inspired Laurens Ten Daam;

  • Looking forward to this but annoyed to be away on business for most of next week and to miss evenings of catching up with the Vuelta and ToB.

Great to have Wiggo and Renshaw riding. Puzzled that Dean Downing is not.

    Interesting piece here

  • Hope Russell Downing wins this one! HTC train will be tough to beat though, Griepel and Martin currently in good form.

Will make the trek out next sat to the scenic London landmarks of Canning Town roundabout, London City Airport and the Excel centre..

  • Waved them off in Rochdale earlier today. Was volunteering for the charidee and doing what i could to ignore all the Honda crap being given out...

Dunno the result from Blackpool today yet, but was shaping up to be a good one after 50 metres. ;)

  • ITV4 from 7pm.

  • ^ nice one, ta.

  • pah... just getting black screen on the interwebz itv.com player :(

edit. bastadz. ITV1 works, so they mustn't be broadcasting the tour on the webplayer.... x-factor anyone :(

edit2. http://www.itv.com/sport/tourofbritain/ anyone got it working?

  • Porte getting some points..

  • today's highlights up on itv 4 now

  • Try watching it from the Dun Cow @ Salthouse; its right on the course.

The sprint @ Wells end out side a pub as well. There's also good fish and chips there.

If you watch it @ Cley you can probably nip back to Holt and then catch it again as it comes through there.

  • i've got to say, watching the tour coverage on itv 4, i'm impressed - its good racing and seemingly organised as well as any continental pro race.
stage 2 was good to watch

  • I'm looking forward to watching it on Saturday. I couldn't make it last year and i think it is the same route... anybody got a good palce to stand, preferably where you can see them coming past in both directions?

  • not sure about where to stand. bloody annoyed at pope though - would be nice for the race to have the prestige of finishing amongst such landmarks.

also, wont be able to make it this weekend so if anybody is desperate for a set of rapha condor riders face masks they can have mine.

Not the same route as last year - last year they went up and down the embankment which was cool, stand on the footbridge and you could see them both ways.

This year it's up East London around the docklands by the ExCel centre. Not sure where will be a good spot but there's a few places where they use both sides of the street.

  • oops, thought it was the same route. I am disapoint

  • Am going up Saturday with a few mates had a butcher's on the website but can't see if they are offering anywhere for secure cycle parking.....anyone know if they are ?

Otherwise gonna have to lug a few locks up between us.

  • I always marshall the London stage and I've never seen secure bike parking (although this is a new "venue"). I wouldn't count on it.

  • Cheers olaf

Worth a try some events do....well Locks it is

in my opinion it's better that way - less tourists

  • Nah, should be like the TDF final stage, come into London through the outskirts then a few laps of town with finish on The Mall.

  • Anyone watching it on ITV4 now?

That looked like a killer stage - walking up Consitution Hill after a few pints is bad enough.

Cycling up it in that rain looks fucking awful.

  • Indeed, that was a bit of a climb. Some wobbly cycling on a steep piece of wet cobbles.

  • Forum trip to Swansea?

    1. dommyracer
  • stage 4 and 5 go past the little village where my grandparents are.
there are some decent hills there.
i wonder whether anyone will hop off?
