drilled + cable routing? is that a custom build?
-
• #78
Jepp. Luigi dunnit fo' me. And he was so kind to do the inner tube cable routing as well. Unasked. Lovely guy.
To answer a former question: frame weight is 1.7 kg (dunno, how much that is in english brick and stone :) )

the bike look fantastic mate! not quite keen on the red lockring thought, it look somewhat distacting.
-

White Industries only offer red for the DOS unhappily. There are some hefty steeps in the Berlin area and if I want to use the bike for proper training, I have to go for the DOS. I wished they had it green. Maybe I can paint it?
But I hate the monster types on the tires even more. -
• #81
you can just get the paint off really.

a-a-a-are you s-s-s-sure?
It looks well anodised, doesn't it?
By the way: De Rosa does a Neo Primato Pista now. (see the Strada version at # 63 above)

vincent the bike is amazing. Not taken with the big fat decals on the tyres and I'd drop the stem down a little, but I absolutely love it.
-
• #87
I'd probably go for a proper Cinelli stem that would look right on the bike than an modern looking stem that got fat at the clamp area.

Vincent that is gorgeous - GOOD JOB FELLA - Buddha

ed you don't know your bikes too well! that is a cinelli xa stem.

Thanks for compliments, mates.
Haven't finished adjusting yet. The tires are what I had in stock for my two road bikes. I think I'll better go for Vittoria Diamante Pros.
@ ed (watch out for that black dottie on top of the stem):
@ fred & buddha: started something new?
P.S. I am using White Industries mtb hubs on my CX cross bike. Great brand really.

Vincent - presently I am getting the run around from Tommasini - did you get your Cinelli through the UK dealer -or did you buy direct? what are they like to deal with - if I can't get any joy out of tommasin I might consider one of these it is a really nice build mate

Luigi of Cinelli is a joy to deal with, buddha. Great guy. And very professional. But so is De Rosa and Tommasini. Barbara the girl in Irios office is so sweet and really helpful. For me it was a hard choice between the three. Well, decided for two of them. But a close friend of me ordered a Pista of Tommasini. Jesus. Wished I could afford one more bike! Writing makes famous with ease, but rarely rich though! Go for the Tommasini, buddha, you wouldn't regret. Plus nobody else has one. (My favourite brands are Tommasini, Cinelli and De Rosa. And MERCIAN of Derby! Must get a King of Mercia one day!)
Ah, your question. Ordered the frame directly. I am living in Berlin and we are not having a proper Cinelli dealer around the area.

Vincent -I have been speaking by e-mail to the English Tommasini dealer since before Christmas then since Christmas he hasn't responded to any of my emails? - next week I'll call him and find out whats going on - I was going to buy the Sintesi but they don't make it in my size 59cm - so now I am looking at a Techno - which one did your friend buy? was it a Techno or Sintesi what was the build quality like?
it is really cool that you are from Berlin ...I am English but I live in Paris ..you got a nice bike... and its nice to talk with you...buddha

Nice colour. Do you think you could get away with the Nokkon cable router (in green or silver)? Because I think the current cable housing slightly cheapens it. Nice none the less.
There is a Titanium De Rosa road bike in Brick lane but utterly old school looking with the shifters on the down tube

@ Buddha: Thanks mate. Same to you. And I wouldn't leave Paris for London or Berlin. At least right espresso any time. But forget about your english Tommasini dealer. Contact Irio directly. Barbara will be pleased to help. But if you could afford to do so, go to Grosseto to see them personally. You wouldn't regret either! To me that would be an important part of the joy. And Irio will do your Sinresi any size. He's a custom frame builder. And one of the best in his own right, so just forget about sizing. The Pista isn't one of his standard models. It's just a classic lugged frame with pista drop outs. And no decoration paint, just plain one colour varnish. And the build quality. Your joking, if you ask. Perfect of course. What a question, mate. Haven't seen any Tommasini yet, that was less than perfect and there are plenty around with my friends. Mainly Tecnos, Sintesis and Fires.
@ Grooves: Thought about the Nokons. Don't know why I didn't take them. But down tube shifters are cool, aren't they? I love to use them on my Battaglin and might change on the De Rosa as well!
My favourite ride. Hard & aggressiv. Just as I like it. And they are selling these frames for a song in Berlin. About 150 GBP that is. So if anyone wants one, please contact. All sizes 56 up to 62. Colours blue, red, silver and black. They are left overs that couldn't be sold after aluminium took over in the 90ies.
It's these details I fell in love with:

The De Rosa is good as it is. I think can see what was bugging me with the Cinelli, is it sporting road bars? The ensemble might look more complete with the really swoopy sliver Cinelli track bars (ie less horizontal at the top of the bar).
-
• #98
It is road bars, Grooves. And it's not a Pista, it's a single speed, which I am using on the road for long distance training. So I'm better off with road bars. But no question track bars are looking great. If I was young enough for a fixie, I had one with proper track bars & stem!

I kinda agree though cinelli criterium (65s) would be a good compromise. Grooves is talking about cinelli 67's which are beautiful on the track but I wouldn't put them in a singlespeed.
Sorry for taking such a long tea break. Frame came in June, crashed with my new De Rosa full speed on a whet rail in August, was pissed for the rest of the year, so didn't finish the bike, but now, well, here it is:
