cheers for that flickwg, hippy. a lot of money then. still. will speak to the wilkinson exchequer in due course.
as an aside, hippy, did you see the news feed on that link - something about childrens bikes for xmas with a picture of a scantily clad woman right above it - kinda wrong. i know you are gonna double check now.

Good work Murtle.

• #111
hippy I don't get it.
look at the poor polar bear hippy - i am now worried you are going to lose your mental sharpness without the beer
-
• #112
Suggesting I am the bear? I thought that was too obvious.. need beer.
One other thing - what the fsck does that pic have to do with bikes?! I assume it's from cyclepassion? -
• #113
suggesting the bear is so fuckin flat cos you've been where the woman now is.
come on dude, get down the pub tomorrow. i am doing Highgate Hill West a couple of times tonight to earn the right. that's the way to go.
-
• #114
Nah, see it's ok if you're an established soft fscker (like Dale :P) coz no one hassles you to drink but if you are a boozer and try to stop drinking, EVERYONE gives you shit until you cave in.. and then it's never just one..

31trum and me have a secret bet on, like in Trading Places.
take one hard-drinking, internet obsessed pedalling aussie hardcase and turn him into a semi straight-edge half marathon running a day moustachioed hipster, and vice-versa.
the usual wager. fiddy dorras
yeah man, stick to your guns. for as long as you can anyway. my one resolution for the year is to clock up more miles than last year (7620). i intend to keep everything else running at the same level though.
-
• #116
pretty impressive jonny. in 2006 i ran 6200 km's in the year, only 4300 km's last year due to illness :(
-
• #117
shit man, 6200 and then 4300 kms. it is i that is impressed dogs - running being way more punishing than pushing the pedals.
-
• #118
haha jonny nice one re: the bet :D
I don't think I've ever added up my kays for a year. There's too many I don't record.
I might have a look coz that's a nice goal - topping last year's mileage. Should be easy if I ride half the sportives I want to. ;) -
• #119
yeah, it's a bit anal of me hippy but i know the mileage of all my regular journeys and i just keep a rough total, err on the side of underaccounting for them so not kidding myself.
am planning to do a lot more longer rides this year too - though not as many as you dude - but then who is? wiggins, contador, i dunno.
have been following the cycle sportives thread and will be throwing my hat in to some of them too dude.
-
• #120
jonny how do you track your mileage?
-
• #121
I just sent in my entry for the Kent one. I'm still unsure about doing Wessex and Paris Roubaix, L2P is booked. I'm going to try for 5 of the 6 100k Reliability Rides as well as the Chiltern 100. I asked the organisers of the Whitehorse Ride to let me know if anyone bails so I can enter. I've removed all the rides up north from my cal coz I'm just not going to have the time to do them.
I'm more anal.. I have a heart rate monitor and log journeys using the Polar software :)
I just often neglect to wear the thing as I never got into training properly here. I'm trying to be more focused and now I have goals I'm actually training for purpose as opposed to just riding to different pubs :) -
• #122
flickwg jonny how do you track your mileage?
i have a had a special chip implanted in my right foot and have got NASA to dedicate one of their top satellites to me.
nah, i just know a lot of journeys (gmap-pedometer any new ones) and just note them in my diary - which comes almost everywhere with me. no flash systems here dude. old skool. pen and papyrus.

• #123
Even the the 8-pint, 2am journeys?
:)
-
• #124
They are often the most memorable! :)
-
• #125
BRM Even the the 8-pint, 2am journeys?
:)
without the 8 pint 2am journeys my total would be about a fifth ;)
