Seen a few fixies around but only recently discovered the world of fixie forums!
I'm Robin and I make bikes out of bamboo, shout me down if you see me riding around - can't miss the bike (it's made of bamboo)
Be good to meet some of ya for polo or beers...
I'm a full bike nerd and I got tools too if any of you have any problems -
• #1304
sounds awesome. Look forward to meeting you and checking out this bike!

I've been away for a few weeks and I'm sure the scene has completely fallen apart without me......right?

The bike is actually Josh's!
He's on the way to Istanbul so won't know for a while. If anyone can do anything about it then please go ahead. If not I'll rebuild the wheel on my return.
-
• #1311
Cant rebuild wheel, rim actually cracked. Matt said he had a spare wheel and I have a tyre so it should be up and running again soon
-
• #1312
front or rear wheel?
-
• #1313
front
-
• #1314
It was all Matts fault.

• #1315
It was all Matts fault.
What he said, nothing to do with me guv
-
• #1316
Actually, Steve has already sourced and fitted another front wheel for Josh's bike. Polo destroys bikes, I doubt he'll be too upset as he knows this.

hey. im not taking the full blame for it!
it was my pedal that went into the wheel.. therefore i was in front and Rich must have turned towards me.
case closed.
i think it goes to show though, that its not worth playing with shitty parts. ok so things get damaged through play, so its not always worth spending money, but notice how my bike always comes out ok..?
Deep Vs and Goldtecs. Marathon Plus 32mm tyres
Retrofitted hefty steel forks and a headset. The wheels have been played on for over 2 years now.

Whatever happened I'm glad it was just bikes that got broken. 50 50 ball, we made contact, nothing more to say...except it wasn't all my fault either

I blame tim.

So in your ideal world we'd all have £300 polo bikes Matt? To me that kind of defeats the low-tech vibe which is what I like about the game.
stop shirking responsibility and fix the bloody thing, the good thing about cheap parts is that they are easily replaced.
-
• #1321
i've seen way more expensive polo bikes than just £300, that is cheap by some players bike costs.
-
• #1322
jeez, calm down.
I have a wheel to give. Donated out of forum love not beacuse i feel guilty are responsible.
Accidents happen in polo. old cheap easily replaceable wheels are more likely to get destroyed. -
• #1323
my bike is gonna be as shitty as possible. my proper bike is only about £160 fuck spending stupid money on polo bike.

I thought I'd ask in here as there's not going to be a sub-sub-forum, but is there anyone in here from around Worthing way?
Yeah I'm based in worthing. Would be up for a local ride sometime this week - back up to Kingston on saturday, moving into my new 2nd year house. PM if you're up for it
