i don't love kmc z510hx chains. upon measuring my chain with new tool it is .75% worn and as i have alu rings it recommends to get a new chain at this point. so i duly did. but the chain, my god, almost broke my chain tool, an almight "POP" when the pin is pushed thru (they have "mushroom" ends?) followed by worry about whether the tool is broken. couldn't get the pin to go back in so ended up using the master link. interestingly, i took the old chain off without moving the wheel, with same amount of links the new chain was 5mm too short, so now i have about 6mm clearance. w00t.

Rolling in to a 9am lecture this morning only to be handed a 6 pack of beer and being told that all my lectures for the week are cancelled. A whole barrow full of win right there.

First week of cycling in more than a month! I'm reduced to informing the internet about how awesome I feel, because my friends (and especially flatmates) are already very bored of hearing about it. My boyfriend thinks I missed my bike more than him, and is jealous.
