The fact the guy is sticking a tenner in your face over the heads of other people is often a clue as well.

When I was waiting for the coach to go to Edinburgh for xmas, as soon as they opened the doors to let people through everyone tried to ram themselves through as quick as possible. The guy taking the tickets was getting annoyed because everyone was too fucking thick to understand how to queue and I was getting very pissed off at people who kept literally forcing their way in front of my sister because she's smaller than them.

In relation to the bar stories, in the Haggerston one night the bar people were being slow and shit then I see someone flashing a light in the eyes of one of the bar men, who was so stubborn he just ignored it about about 30 seconds before leaving. The man flashing the light was Reen.

I was an international race car driver. One day, a baby carriage rolled out onto the tracks, so I swerved into the retaining wall to avoid it. The car burst into the flames, but the baby miraculously survived....I was that baby!

More often than not I'd say to the fella "Excuse me mate, I was first" and it normally works* but I was with my Mrs and I didn't wanna get into a 'heated debate' so I let the cunt get served first

*depending on what kind of pub you're in

when I'm at a pub that I like I'll defer to people who got there before me. If I'm in a trendy wine bar/club (seldom) I'll just wait my turn.

It does annoy me when people jump in line but fuck it, worse things happen at sea.

I know everyone creams over Apple, but it's shit as a music player. WMP is 1,000,000,000 times better. If I didn't have to use it for my devices (which admittedly are awesome) I'd never never touch the thing.

I'm sure it works flawlessly with Macs and it's all down to my laptop, but it's still shit.

Why is WMP so much better than itunes? Not doubting, I'm just not technologically savvy and curious why you think it.

for a start it doesn't force you to install a load of shite you dont want like quicktime etc

Shit, I've never even heard of foobar. itunes seems to do all I want - but it shouldn't have a monopoly.

when I'm on ubuntu though I do use rhythmbox which is an unashamed itunes clone.

I use foobar2000 too, last time i checked songbird has updated everything but the ipod plug in so you couldn't use it.

I know this sounds nuts, but I haven't had my own pc/laptop/computor for about a year. I've just got my laptop fixed and haven't got around to getting a screen for my PC. I used to have WMP all neatly set up.

Anyway enough of the prelude...

....being able to create your own filters and genres - eg I used to have "mood", so you can have say a song in the 'rock' genre which is a 'angry' "mood" and a 'hip-hop' genre one also in the 'angry' "mood". Then you can have filters so you auto-create playlists - eg 'angry' + 'upbeat', etc. You can say itunes has this, but really it doesn't. It just sort of does.

Oh and the other big gripe is the way the whole thing is essentially designed to move you from what ever you used, to buying songs/media from Apple via the istore. It just isn't designed for your use. The whole program seems to go against that macfanboy saying of "it just works".

FWIW altho I don't own Apple Macs, I have nothing against them*. If I had the cash I'd have one.

*altho I'm always sceptical of anyone who wanks over any one thing/brand excessively.

On another music related note, I'm fucking fed up of dodging songs I like because they remind me of my ex. I'm loading up my shuffle before I go on holiday, so not really up for having good time remind me of bad ones.

It's over 1yr later...is this something that I'm always going to be fucking stuck with? Because there are some fucking classics - Venus in Furs for eg and a whole load of Sam Cooke and Al Green (which I really like).

...at least I still have 90s gansta rap :)

if i wanted a powerful mac i'd get a hackintosh, paying all that cash for a mac pro is a total rip off. I currently an a tad over whelmed with computers.
I have my main windows PC for doing actual work on.
My windows based HTPC hooked up for my TV for films etc
my super light windows based ibm thinkpad for travelling and my macbook for portable power. all bases covered.

lulz.. I just have a decent monitor on the side for my TV/Films.

Adds an extra dimension to the humble laptop. Also, when you're looking at a document, you're really looking at the document.

Also, if you want your thinkpad to be super-er and lighter-er you should get a lite version of linux for it. My dad's netbook runs fairly smoothly with it.

I did think about that but then i decided against it as I wanted to use some of the IBM software like airbag which protects your hd against shocks, I had three screens for a period on my main pc which was cool but i decided it was over kill in the end.

yeah, even with just a meagre two my dad occasionally mocks me for being in 'mission control'.
