I cleaned my chain, chainring and sprocket yesterday and now it feels like sandpaper, it's horrible. Also there is some kind of clicking feeling a few times each rotation of the cranks, everything has been tightened and it's still happening, proper annoying.

I had this a while back. Check the wear on the rear sprocket.

sprocket is only a couple months old and it's a Surly one which are meant to be pretty good. Getting a new chain soon so hopefully that will sort it.

How cold is your room? My macbook won't fire up if the temperature is low. Try taking the battery out and warming it up for a few minutes in your clothes.

Aye, it's probably one or the other. When the chain stretches (...) it won't mesh with the sprocket as easily, and vice versa.

I was told that squeaky BBs are usually caused by water/moisture, wd40'ing the fucker up to the hilt may help, otherwise it'll probably dry out on its own.

I worked out it's just the chain. Going to replace it soon, seeing as it's my only method of stopping and all.
