also, going on dafont.com and downloading a few fonts (which someone else has drawn) and then writing a brand name in one of the said fonts does not make you a graphic/logo designer.
Shit. Even if you get one of the fonts you have to pay for?

The point was that writing something in a non standard font does not give you untold amounts of talent and skill (which the individual in question seems to think it does).

Nah, it doesn't. I only correct the spelling of people who are in the process of correcting someone else's (I love that). Anything else is mean.
It's just another way of feeling superior to people. For example – just off the top of my head – like pointing out to some poor bastard it's their own fault their bike got nicked because they used a cheaper lock than you do.

I just don't understand why people get so pedantic about grammar when they fully understand what the person was trying to convey..

I wonder who you could be talking about?
There's a weird semi-lo-pro thing with vertical drop-outs and a Tokyo fixed gear sticker on it abandoned on Upper Street with it's front wheel missing. It's been there a few weeks. Some time after the wheel went walkies (i assume) the police attached one of those helpful "ALWAYS LOCK BOTH WHEELS" tags to the top tube! Yeah thanks Kojak. Was Kojak even a cop? I don't know.
