I liked them a lot until it occurred to me halfway through a gig (in around 2006? At ATP) that they sounded like the Levellers. After that they were ruined for me. I couldn't listen to them anymore. A gift, dear boy, I hope I have passed on to you.

Hmmmm, possibly. They sucked balls last night and left before the end. I still like most of Her Majesty and The Crane Wife but unfortunately they played practically nothing off either of these and devoted the first hour and a patience trying half to performing their awful new concept album in it's entirety. I fucking hate concept albums at the best of times and standing at a previously looked forward to gig with the sinking feeling that they're going to waste three quarters of the night on this drivel is not the best of times. Dorky dorky crowd too. Very annoying.

Plus when they'd finally finished all that had a break and come back they spent far too much time dicking about for my liking, climbing in the crowd, having "comedy bad guitar duels" and generally wasting more time with extended buggering about. Non-plussed. JUST PLAY SOME FUCKING SONGS YOU GOGGLE EYED TIT!

Ach, sorry. When I saw them they made everyone sit down on the floor. I hate being made to feel like some performing fucking monkey - you're on stage, you do the wacky shit. If you must.

Songs like Grace Cathedral Hill will endure, but they are largely rubbish I reckon.

Royal Festival Hall. It was ever so civilised. One of the new songs made me cry, a bit, but I don't think anyone noticed :-)

I saw Corein Baily Ray on JH about three years ago and it was unbelivable. I was disapointed when she released her first single as it really didn't do her justice. Far to over produced.

Someone did this to me a few years back when I was listening to Eli The Barrowboy.

I imagine it would've ruined it for me had I any idea of what The Levellers sounded like, aside from those one or two rubbish songs they'd play in alt clubs in the 90s, to which girls with dreadlocks would dance arm-in-arm while I rolled my eyes, clenched my fists and ground my teeth silently.

Fortunately I avoided their records like the plague. Didn't they have a bassist called Jeremy? Awesome.

Me too. Been waiting for Total Cycling to post my replacement Phil BB that I sent a couple of weeks ago. I have had to fork out good money on an interim replacement. I'm really tired of hearing "we will post it today". They still owe me a Time Atac dust cap, but I've given up on that.
