At least it's reassuring that I'm not the only one who doesn't have anything more interesting to do on a Friday night than discuss parking techniques!

Dad, is that you?

Reversing in helps in case you need a quick exit (and you never know when that might be necessary)

Fuck me, my dad seems to have multiple accounts on here!

Easier and safer to back in now that most cars have backup cameras. Line up the parking spot lines with the lines on the car screen and you will park better than if you drove forward.
Going forward when pulling out is easy and you’re looking where you are going. -

All of this is easily resolved by parking across two spaces.

Back on thread - I hate people who do that😀

Park in the quiet but of the car park and drove forwards in and out.

I find the ones with the picture of a wheelchair on to have the most space. Usually right by the door too

I hate NIB items that have clearly been previously opened.
The lens seems to be fine, but it still rankles.

Re. Reversing…..didn’t you lot specify 360degree cameras . Christ what kind of Golf Club is this.

Those things are fucking witchcraft. I’d not go near them if I were you.

If your driver can't park your Bentley without those new fangled gadgets, what are you bloody paying him for?

Old habits die hard. All police vehicles had to be reversed into spaces for immediate deployment. This does not help me when I push the laden shopping trolley to my car in Tesco's car park and can't get to the boot.

can't get to the boot.
You left it in the face of the downtrodden masses.
Here all week. Try the tofu.

Isn’t part of the suggestion to reverse in that it’s safer because it’s easier to see what is happening when driving back out? Rather than those idiots who just drive out of a parking space in reverse and collide into a vehicle that has right of way?

Yes but pedants would object to the use of right of way when you probably mean priority.

Thinking of a MkIII MX5 with the roof down, that might work.

The news cycle atm.....fuck me its bleak.
UK really is heading in to a shitstorm. I felt so depressed/kinda helpless after watching the news last night. -

The doctors surgery my dad went to are fucking useless. They just can’t send a piece of paper to the registrars to allow me to register his death. It’s been a week now and four visits there but no fucking dice. there’s no issue but their incompetence. I can’t book a funeral slot nor can the undertaker do some work to make him presentable so my mum can see him. Any more delay and he might be too far gone to view. Everyone else has been great apart from this shower of cunts.

That sounds horrendously stressful. Really hope they can sort it soon, and hope you and the family are holding up ok.

It totally is. Try and step back from it, I know it's hard and I'm the worst for it. I try and read the Stoics, trying to get my head around that it's all been the same for millennia.
Despots, political plotting, war, famine, pandemics, taxes!
Cheer up, soon be dead!
Yeah I get that it's easier reversing into tight spots but I figured moocher was moaning about supermarket style parking spots which always have plenty of room to just go straight into. Anyhow it's an odd thing to hate and an odd thing to get into a discussion about on a Friday night, I must be getting old 😂
