Also, a lot of fuss is made about how surface water drains aren’t coping because of run-off from paved garden spaces. I reckon the debris from chip seal is doing more to block them.

It's more accurate, especially for the spray stuff, both are better than "sun tan lotion" which is where my head tries to go first.

The Superdrug I went into on Sunday afternoon was lovely and cool and had the doors wide open :( I suppose it's better from a Covid perspective.

Agreed but that’s sadly not the case for most US buildings. Although most do have doors.
