It’s a big complicated mess tbh - all tied up in family disputes.
I’m knackered, my backs knackered, I’m pissed off because I was desperate to catch up on much needed rest, I feel like I wasted a holiday, and on top of all that I m stressed out because my relatives have essentially rinsed a load of my gran’s money on the place but have chosen to tart it up rather than deal with the painstakingly obvious issues like the gutters overflowing with moss, the huge damp issues relating to the roof and the whole side of the house that needs repointing. Then on top of that the work to tart the place up is pretty mediocre, so the whole illusion of having it as a holiday let for income os just pure fantasy, it’s just a way for my relatives to scrounge a holiday home for free off my gran.

It’s the whole reason we haven’t tried to stay there for years - it’s a complete shitshow that causes more stress than it saves. We’d always camped instead but we’re not quite ready to try that with a baby just yet.

NB. I am aware that complaining about a family holiday cottage isn’t the worst problem in the world to have, but here we are.
