I'm still a povo.

I’ve only relatively recently got to a place where I can read that stuff, sit with it, be okay with being on the outside looking in. We won’t fix what’s broken in the world by tearing this place apart and having a pop at other peoples’ life decisions*. Maybe I’ve given up and settled on futility, but kindness and understanding are going a long way for me these days.
*Except for @amey obv.

What with the snooker being on here's a perennial favorite.

I agree, but you then you write this:
Grande Depart
I'll hit you with a baguette if I could.

Artisan, I hope... So aggressive...

The favoured term is à l'ancienne.

I'm older than you, where am I?
-

That's it... I lost a tooth on a beaucoup beurre, jambon cru et cournichon, l'anciennes baguette... First day in Paris, had a whole week of gigs in France, fantastic!!

Ha, did my extra e and lack of acute accent on the other e cause this mild bout of aggression? I like cycling a LOT more than I like watching people being paid to ride bikes so my knowledge of the correct terms (and my lack of ability to speak/write French) has let me down. But I do know that of in English is of.
Baguettes at dawn? 😉

I'll let you off this time.

You seem to be describing people getting older.

I hate that I basically can’t afford to buy sundry items from my LBS. can’t work out if I’ve been conditioned to internet prices or if they’re just expensive.
-
• #11496
What sort of stuff?
-
• #11497
Gear cable for a fiver. It’s been a while since I’ve bought one individually and not in bulk I guess. And it was a stainless cable, so maybe that’s not that bad?
-
• #11498
That does seem a bit steep. I think my LBS charges about 3 quid, but then that's not London's Famous London. I suppose that 'fuck it I need it now' market is where LBSes have to make some of their profits.
-
• #11499
I think I've paid something like £6.99 for one at an LBS. Maybe that was with an outer. Anyway, I see at as a kind of fee for having an LBS in the first place.

Shimano cables have nearly doubled about 2 years ago! £3 to £5 or so.
The coated ones were something stupid like £15 for an inner..
I wouldn't go that far (and don't like that particular term) but some of the posts you read on here these days are a bit golf club.
Investments, which credit card provider gives the best reward scheme, mortgages, help me buy a holiday home in France, watch me and express admiration as I spend thousands on new bike components – that sort of thing.
