Oh, and spiders. Just spent a month on the Central Coast near Gosford NSW, and this fucker popped in for a surprise visit.

Tiny.
HTFU.

Big enough for me. And fucking quick too, tho not as fast as the wife when she saw it. And she’s the Aussie.

It's pretty binary. Some people are like 'whatever' and others can't even be in the same room as a spidross.

Mate the game's gone soft! Bring back the biff!

Thanks for the reminder that I can never go to Australia.

Welcome. The wife wants us to go back there to live but she hates spiders. This could be tricky.

Mice. They're back in our loft after a break away.
I am again become, Death destroyer of their world. -
• #10912
I remember the first time I had a mouse in the house. I didn’t want to kill it so my housemate at the time and I spent 2 hours trying to trap it - we were going to then take it a mile away and release it. It died from shock, induced by being pursued by terrifying giants for 2 hours in the end. I just use back-breakey traps now.

Punching myself in the face putting on arm warmers. That's the second time now.

Toasters.
I just want toast not some utterly random and unpredictably merged bread/carbon hybrid. -

Tl:Dr - Dualit.

Tl:Dr - Dualit.
I have never used a domestic Dualit that isn't broken in someway.

In fact that comment has properly triggered me.
2 slice Dualit toasters.
Well >£100 for a domestic toaster that is just as prone to failure as any other, and which is so expensive everyone hunting for something to match their MBP on the coffee bar section of their John Lewis kitchen island settles for the 2-slice variant, making it a fucking pain in the arse to get breakfast for >1 person, let alone a group breakfast, forcing you to toast most of the toast under a grill.

This is the problem. DCT1 / DCT2 / DCT3 fixes that, Lincat's comparable ones are solid too.

Take it up in the thread.
I don't have a swanky toaster, but my boomer parents have a Dualit 4 slicer that makes the best toast since sliced bread.

Ahem.
This is the I hate thread.
My post stands.

Middle class toaster chat

I hate that my office building can't regulate temperatures properly. Currently it's tropical in here. Fucking waste of energy as well.
-
• #10923
Mine generally goes with the air con blasting out cold air and the radiators turned on.
-
• #10924
The fact they don't pop up = broken.
I'm adding Dualit toasters to the 'I hate' thread.

My boss runs hot, the girls run cold. Neither are willing to accept a middle ground.
As a result the air con is either at one extreme. The closest it gets to optimum is when the girls are silently waging guerilla warfair with electric heaters.
The irony that a lot of what we do evolves renewables is lost on everyone.
Gluten free. I don't want gluten free I want the full shebang.
I want the gluten.
