The Ultimate Brakeless/Front/Rear/How many brakes? thread

Being a expectant first time dad (any day now), I just had this thought buzzing in my head - maybe it's time to put that rear brake back on? Any thoughts or experience?

There would have to be a serious amount of poor maintenance going on for both of those to happen at once. But, accidents do happen.
