• Doesn't make sense.

  • I like to ride as fast as I can at all times, and have had quite a few occasions where I have managed to avoid collisions by the skin of my teeth with both brakes. So I don't think I could ride with less brakes, unless I was to ride quite a lot slower, which is ironic really. But then I guess if you're riding too fast, people aren't going to be able to admire your spokks, so if you have a bike designed to go really fast, it's best to ride slow anyway...

  • I'm after some advice please. What's the better brake, weinman 500 or 730. Thanks guys

  • Probably better off using your feet

  • Ideally with shoes on

  • point taken, but I want something that looks oldish on a classic road bike converted to s/s

  • Old shoes.

  • Probably better off using your feet

    like this?

  • very good PiemelPiemel, very good

This page indicates the two models differ in reach. Didn't read any further so I don't know the exact differences, but I'll leave that up to you ;) See which suits your setup the best.

  • don't get it...

Takes almost all the weight off the feet, so you are essentially just using your toes to provide forward motion, and not impacting the ground with every step.

500 and 730 are the same brake apart from the longer reach on the 730. Get the one which fits.

    What like cycling?

  • Hadn't realised about the reach, thanks

  • I was actually thinking of this one, but couldn't find the picture...

  • Makes me think of this

  • We need six of those in adult size to start the next trend in polo. Got to be an advancements for the sport, they even have a cup holder for your beer.

  • I guess if you love running and hate cycling but your knees are ruined, you might feel it was worth the indignity of being strapped into an overgrown baby walker.

  • I bet they are absolutely terrifying downhill.... I wondr if anyone's raced them yet?

  • I was thinking you could just superman it downhill.

  • I was thinking you could just superman it downhill.

That would be terrifying! I wonder if you could balance or if it would just fall sideways?

  • good job I had a front brake.
    .

  • I ride fixed with front brake only. Front brake cable snapped near the end of my 10km morning commute today. Bought replacement cable but needed to get bike home to fix with tools...

So, rode home brakless tonight. Gotta say, it scared the shit outta me, even with my herculean legs. Had to ride at about 20kmh all the way home, about a quarter of my usual speed. Has made me think twice about putting the rear brake on too.

    csb etc...

    • probably not true
