Sennheiser cx300 if they still make them. The left side will possibly fail within 9 months though...

Picked up some QC-25s the other week. Probably overpriced but give untold luxury when flying. Yeah, Bose, whatever.

I don't bother buying expensive in ear headphones - they all break within 4 months. I view them as a disposable item now.

re: E10s, I recommended them on here them within the price range as I also see earbuds as temporary things too. Can't say they're amazing but for £30 I'm really impressed with the clarity. They don't have a hyped or extended low end at all but what i liked about them was a lack of harshness in the highs. I found Sennheiser and Sony efforts at around the same price had bags of low end woof but often had unpleasantly harsh sibilant high ends that the E10s didn't.
Anyone found a solution for wind noise whilst cycling with earbuds in? I find the E10s are particularly prone to this, though which is a bummer.
In studio cans world my DT 880 Pros are still really impressing. Beautifully clear and detailed. Love them.

I bought some E10s to replace my Denons and they are really bad for cycling with. I've tried all of the many buds they supply and can't get a good seal on any of them. I even used the ones off my old Denons that fitted perfectly but for some reason they don't give me a good sound or seal on the E10s. The wind is really pronounced when cycling or even just walking about in relatively windy weather.
I use Shure SRH940s for home listening and they are superb but not the sort of thing you'd walk around with. I wanted to get some decent over ear/on ear headphones for on-the-go that weren't too bass heavy so opted for V-Moda Xs. I tried on the over-ear ones (M100) in the States but they were too bassy and pronounced. I read the reviews for the XS version and it said they had a more refined sound but no one apart from Amazon stocks them so now way of trying them out.
I took a punt because they fold up to the size of a fist and come with a decent case. Was unsure about on-ear and noise isolation but they fit so well that this isn't a problem as long as you don't mind turning them up a bit. You get a bit of sound leak but in a noisy environment this isn't too much of an issue. The sound is superb as well and they are incredibly portable. Can't recommend them highly enough as on-the-go headphones.

Would mainly be for the gym
so E10's?
-
• #762
I use them in the gym but can't get them to fit well. I think it may be because the casing is metal and they protrude quite far out so that they tend to pull out and break the seal.
They're not bad for the money but I much preferred my Denons. The only reason I didn't buy the Denons again was because the lead was mad of 2 parts which would occasionally be useful but they were too short to fit in your pocket unless you had the extension lead fitted and then they were too long.

I've had a pair of Sony mdr ex310lp IEMs for nearly two years now and they are still working great. Really good seal with little wind noise and they need hardly any fiddling once they're in.

Anyone used those bone conduction headphones? Used them while riding? Any good?
-
• #765
New definition to head bangin!
But no, not used - interesting tho. Wonder if it the sound is in your head? The voices, they made me do it...

I bought some bluetooth headphones for the gym - much easier without cables and sound quality is surprisingly good.
-
• #767
I found Sony earbuds longer lasting than Sennheisers. I found Sennheisers to sound best (CX300s) but the sound deteriorates over maybe a year.

More Bone Conduction thingies... but built into sunglasses - excellent idea:

My E10s just gave me an electric shock :-(

i hear you, superprincess. i wasn't that upset when my e10s pooed themselves.
the klipsch ones i have now were pricey and they are good, but shit files sound shit with them. they are tiny and get a wicked seal, though

totally - been through about 5 pairs of CX300-II's over last few years and they don't last 5 minutes which is a shame because they're really good sound wise

I bought these from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mpow-Bluetooth-Sweatproof-Headphones-Hands-free-Sport-Bluetooh/dp/B00OK5BELU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423143114&sr=8-1&keywords=mpow+swift
Silly cheap and really quite good. Much nicer at the gym than anything with wires everywhere. I leave my phone in my bag in the locker now as it reaches the machines without and problems.

The signal reaches your headphones from the locker?!?! How small is the gym?
Soundmagic e10's are slightly more but absolutely superb for the extra fiver or so.
