  • Thought about getting some of these popular "urban ears" that have been recommended in here also.
Had the chance to check them out the other day, and was glad I didn't buy them,
old Sony MDR-V150 cost half as much and sound much better in my opinion.

  • I had some, liked them, the cable lasted less than a year though

  • r these any fockin good?

For the money they are the best headphones you can buy.

    P.S Grado's leak everything.

  • CHeers!

  • I've got some sennheiser hd495 that need new foam pads in the ear pads and the band part. Other than that great. I'd be willing to part with them for some £beer.

  • Is there a pair of headphones that has a comparable quality and price point to the Grado SR's, but without the terrible leakage?

Full disclosure: I've never actually used Grados, I've just heard they have zero sound containment. Truth or lies? YOU decide.

sr-60's have open backs and you can see the driver
there is quite a bit of noise seepage

  • I've had a pair of K451's for just over a year and can vouch for them, definitely best you can get for your money at that price point IMO.

  • I think someone mentioned B&W already but I got a set of the P3s from my family last Christmas and they are fricking awesome - completely bring new depth to music I've been listening too.

  • Tempted to splash out on those K451s, they look great...

  • I wasn't sure where to post this. Can anyone recommend somewhere to et headphones repaired? I've got a set of Sennheiser PX450 that are at least a couple of years out of warranty that have started crackling and distorting everything like mad. Sennheiser want £65 to repair them which seems like a lot.

the reviews from what hifi seem trust worthy

    Both ears?

  • I've got the AKGs on their way, will report

  • I've been shopping for cans that will do tracking, mixing and occasional commuting. So, closed back, over (not on) the ear, decent isolation and the best neutral detailed sound I can get for sayyyyy £150ish?

  • HD-25 SP if you've little ears, the ear cup on them is small-ish. Super tough and sound good and closed backs that block out a lot of noise.

  • Anyone got experience of the diff between HD25sp and the full price HD25s? Another friend recommended the regular 25s last week. Starting to think they could be the way to go.

  • Fuck sp. Proper ones or GTFO.

  • Getting tired of going through earphones so frequently, so wasteful when the fault is always a loose connection at the stereo jack. Have looked at youtube tutorials about fixing these, but doubt I can make it sturdy enough.

Anyway, can any of you guys recommend a set of earphones that can actually last a while, specifically with a sturdy jack connection?

  • check the earphones thread
although you will probably be merged with it anyhow

  • Did check that, but seemed more headphone specific? Feel free to merge...

  • if you have the money go with any iem that has a detachable cable. like ultimate ears ue10 (mine and great) shure, westone...
unfortunately cables are always going to wear out and fail. its just a fact. replacing the cable rather than the whole set is cheaper than buying new every time.

These are good, use them when running, cycling or on the Motorbike. this is my 3rd pair in about 5 years.

  • I just get skullcandys or whatever with a 2 year warranty, keep the receipt safe and use said warranty. Frequently. Once got 5 pairs for the original tenner from HMV.
