You want me to stay on topic.. on this forum? You're joking right? Anyway, I'm perfectly capable of knocking myself out first round, nay the qualifying round..
On Topic Bit
This thread is about racing on these:
It's a great laugh and you should all turn up on the night. If you don't I will visit every one of you in my most threadbare lycra and bend over lots.

You keep making promises you never keep hippy. We're all so disappointed.

Roller racing is also known as "goldsprints". -
• #180
where?
-
• #181
Here for one: http://goldsprintsnyc.com/
I think in bits of Europe too. -
• #182
When I first became involved with the Roller Racing events here in London (about 1999) they were called Goldsprints too.
-
• #183
only by the kind of courier who call themselves "messengers".

"they actually complete 500 meter sprints in 17.2 seconds from a standing start no less. Ok the 17.2 is the current record for this feat but one of the riders there tonight finished in 17.5. I heard estimates of pedal cadences in the range of 180 rpm."

paperboy woz one of my favourite games on the old commodore 64.
-
• #186
I wonder what gear they were running on those bikes. When we were running 48x14 Simon J did it in 16.??
-
• #187
180rpm...that's nothing....my current best time is 21.2 (or 21.3 not too sure) and that's 204 rpm, Caspar can go under 21 secs at will but he still hasn't beaten the record.....if you want to know how to work out cadences / times we counted the amount of revoultions to complete a race (500m) it's 72.5!

aren't couriers just postmen without the union membership?
:-)
-
• #189
no it's like being a paperboy, except you have to deliver all day every day and not just saturday mornings.
and you don't get shouted at by old men, or bitten by dogs..
or do you?
-
• #190
You certainly do get shouted at by old men, usually old men in black cabs. Dogs aren't such a problem though, receptionists are.........
-
• #191
I suppose, these days, vaccinations are mandatory

hehe "might" be £3..?
"Shit now the guy reckons THREE quid to get in!"
"Sod it, lets just share a kebab instead" -
• #194
it's gonna be 2 possibly less ...
-
• #195
to race
-
• #196
Why less? Surely if people are reading this they can afford 1) a computer and 2) electricity (shutup library/school people! :P)
Is the diff. between £1 and £3 really likely to deter people? Not that I wanna pay extra but I'd not like to see you come up short ya know? -
• #197
man just by the amount of booze hippo will drink you'll bound to make money on the night! but yeah weird, just say £3
-
• #198
In the name of performance I shall be drinking only mineral water, an Evian freshly poured from the bosom of an Alpine maiden..
-
• #199
until you get knocked out by me in the first round, then you'll be cursing skinny runts :p . i've moved to commuting on 42:18 to get the legs spin ready ;)

True. You, BMMF, slaam.. That's quite a few drinks to spike. Where can I order rohypnol in bulk?
It's win win though.. coz if I win, well, I win and if I lose I drink! DRINK! :D
