  • S'pretty windy today.

I'm thinking of fitting a 16T one side and a 20T the other for the autumn and flipping the wheel for the way to and from work.

    That'll work, right?

  • Maybe if you work on top of a mountain.

    I'm a 16/18 flop-flopper with great succes :]

  • I doubt wind is the problem.

  • Wind was certainly a nuisance for me today either that or I aged a decade or two while at work.

a 16/18 flipper-flopper should be fine for chainlength setup

but 16/20 ? wouldnt that have issue on one or the other

unless yer track-ends are really long ..

  • After much experimenting I'm looking to go for 48/15 freewheel that would fit a regular size thread. Does such a thing exist? Can only find m30 thread freewheels.

  • AC make made a 15T for 1.370" threads

  • 51/16 is almost the same, and 16T freewheels are common.

  • Right so just bought a wheel to go fixed. question, I currently run 48/18 (Correction above i stated 16) will this be ok for fixed? Also if i change cog size do i need to change chain length?

  • You might want to find a 17 if you want to do mad skidz.

  • I think i do want to do skidz as i am a big kid at heart, wont it work with an 18? I take it 16 will be too big a gear for me?

  • Grab a 19t, you can skid around on 48/18 but it's only 3 skid patches.

  • 48/19 is a classic sensible gear of 67"

  • 70 inch gear is about 'right', just below that suits me.

  • I love this thread. 47/17-19 for mad skidz... not much good for anything else though, unless you're doing some serious climbing.

    #masherbynature

  • Shaved a few minutes from my commute going from 48/16 to 46/16.

  • Spin to win...

  • I'm used to mashing though :(

  • 48/16 DAWS all day

  • ^ how long does your tyres last? :)

  • may put on a 17 due to wind being intense

  • still going strong 3 months later Hardshell

  • 24.99 from Evans
