anybody got a good pair of 32h track hubs they wanna get rid of?
-

Maybe you dont need a special hub
It's feasible to spring a 9×100 through-axle fork open to fit a normal 108mm long QR axle. You end up with something intermediate in security between a normal open dropout QR and a proper through bolt. It's more of a get-you-home bodge than a sensible permanent arrangement.

yes I guess so!
Get a fancy thru bolt.

Are the Bitex hubs any good? They seem a bit lighter than say Novatec

Anyone had any bad experiences with Tune hubs? specifically Mag 170? creaking, drag etc? read a few articles online about this and wondered if it was a common problem. I'm looking to buy a second hand pair of the hubs shortly and am wondering if I should avoid due to the issues mentioned...
Many thanks in advance...

Yeah. I'm inclined to agree with mdcc_tester though and it's a lot easier to put the thru bolt hub with rotor in the Cotic fork then a traditional skewer hub.

Looking at Hadley's website it looks a nice thru-bolt but it seems to be for conventional forks ie open ended dropouts as one bolt head has a tab to stop it rotating. The only place I can see that tab locating is in the dropout.

Bitex is all-round better then Novatec.
Better bearings, better hub geometry and better freehub mechanism -

Mine came im 60g overweight for the pair (409g) which is still pretty respectable for disc hubs. Quality feels excellent and they built up very nicely. Won't be able to comment on durability till I've ridden them properly. 48 points of engagement was impressive though, and somewhat competitive with CK and Hope iirc. They also have replaceable end caps which is only a plus

how much was it for the pair? And do they come with thru axle adapters?
-
• #5262
Less than £130 for the pair. And no, available separately. No idea how much the adaptors cost

ah ok .. I want to build a 650b lols wheelset for summer, will go with bitex then, the second cheapest option is DT 350, then novatec for 12x100 front.

I'm after a wide tubeless compatible rim, for rim brakes, for my sscx (so 33 or 35c tyres). any recommendations? I guess I need a mtb rim but is there anything designed for rim brakes anymore?
-
• #5265
Obviously you can order the hubs with whatever adaptors you want for the same cost. They do seem excellent value for what they are. Absolutely no logos either which is a big plus in my book

DT Swiss R460

many thanks, they look like they'll do the job. DT Swiss website doesn't rate them for cross but what could possibly go wrong...

Not wide enough

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy them? (Bitex hubs)
I'm after a front hub and a fixed / fixed rear, was going to go Novatec but if the Bitex are better I'd be interested in comparing them price wise...

Although they consider the R23 wheels which use essentially the same rim to be CX ready.
@thecycleclinic would probably suggest Kinlin XR22

Email DCR ( davidcrhunt at gmail dot com ). Not sure who else stocks them but they're very quick with replying to emails and postage/packing, so I feel compelled to recommend them. You can probably import from Asia but the taxes would likely make them more expensive(+ take longer)

Thank you!

Ok - so assuming I'm going with Bitex hubs, for a lightweight road/gnarmac wheelset. What are my rim choices? Will be running Grand Bois Cypres tyres but would like tubeless ability.
