  • Perhaps they're both just over.

What do you need the tt dia for?

  • Ah its for some brake cable clamps to fit on the tt. They seem to come in a varied diameter.

I found an article on Urban velo: http://www.urbanvelo.org/issue3/urbanvelo3_p46-47.html

That says it looks like seat tube and bottom tube would be 1.125" and tt is 1" on standard bike, Im guessing that sounds about reet?

  • Also, where did you find the tubing diameter from I swear I tried every possible search term in google.

  • I owned a 2006 one. The tt was deffo 1" (clear just by looking).

It might be worth looking on US and old versions of the Fuji website for the seatclamp dia, or phone a shop who stocks them.

  • Ah cool, thanks for the info.
I would ring a shop but the only poeple I know who stock it are Evans and I really have reservations on any info I get from them. I think i remember somewhere saying that the seat clamp was 28.6mm off there 2010 model.

  • I think possibly I am the only person who wants to know this but I juts got an email from Fuji directly about the dimensions of the classic's top tube and seat tube and it is 29mm for anyone who wants to know.

  • My Track 2.0, which has now been retired to beater status -

  • Some people beaters are better than my Sunday best!

I am pretty sure the tubing is fatter than 1".

Someone with the frame can verify that, no?

EDIT: I seem to have lost my eyes. Sorry about that.

I guess the down tube was 29mm as well?

  • I've recently noticed when riding my 2011 track classic that every 1 or 2 rotations of the cranks there's a bit of a clicking noise, I'm not 100% sure but I think it's coming from the BB, anything to worry about?

  • Regrease and refit... pedals, crank bolts, bb. All bikes need this doing regularly as dirt works it's way in.

    And UTFS.

    :)

  • Yeah, good point, I haven't done that once since I've had it! Cheers.

  • Enjoying my Fuji Track Classic (2012) but the stock brakes seem a wee bit on awful side. Is it just the stock brake blocks? Or do I need to do something more drastic?

  • The brakes are a non-named budget entry levels variety, I'd suggested at least a Shimano Tiagra brakeset which will make a nice improvement.

If you can't stretch for decent brakes, then a change of pads may be a good solution, says a Koolstop Salmon, which will make a noticable improvement (even more so with a Tiagra brakeset).

  • Make sure if you get new brakes they fit the drop on a track bike as it's usually bigger than other bikes, otherwise the brake won't hit the brake surface. Lots of fixed gear riders get a brake with 57mm drop (front brake).

I don't think there's a trend for brake drop, a lots of (actual) track bike tend to have a short reach brakes rather than the other way round.

    eh? umad?

  • Don't you know? it's a whole subculture full of people with bicycle that have brake drop of 57mm.

oddly enough, I am not in those subculture despite having balloon tyres.

  • I tell a lie.

I have extreme brake drop, ruck yeah.

Well i suppose that's a possibility, i can't say i have taken a keen interest in what drop people have on their brakes, it was merely an observation from my past experiences. Surely, short reach brakes on certain frames would mean brakes hitting tyres rather than brake surface?

    Or maybe not :p

Only if there's no room left to move the pads low enough to reach the rims.

This is a track/poseur bike, not a post office bike.

And no one likes a Post Office bike.

  • Has anyone managed to get some 28's on one of these or is 25c as good as it gets?

You can: front is fine, but you'll have to add some clearance (ie chain length) for the rear to fit.
