i'm aware of this but thanks for the reminder, all i'm saying is that on some roads there is no way to avoid the door zone (apart from riding primary, but who does that really?)
People are afraid of riding in primary because of the fear that the driver will hit them from behind, while in reality they're more likely to if you're hugging the kerbs due to being a lots less visible.
There are a lots of scenario where it's usually better to just wait behind a vehicles if there's no way to pass on both side with minimal risk, after all you are on a bicycle and still going a lots quicker than motorised vehicles.
As DJ said, a Cycle Training season will shed a lots of light in this, and consequently you'll come out feeling much more comfortable and confident in riding with the traffic.

I'd have thought people were reluctant to ride in primary out of fear that they're holding up traffic rather than worrying about being driven into.
You get enough grief for being in primary doing 20+ mph (often when the speed limit's 20). Riding in primary at 15 mph or less simply isn't worth the hassle.

That was the secondary concern I heard from people, the main was that if you derived from the cycle lane, you will get hit sorta mentality.
Despite the occasional honking, drivers are a lots better, but cyclists are a lots worse ironically, yelling at me for stopping them undertaking me, and for being on primary.

The way I see it is you're doing the drivers behind you a favour, ride in primary to avoid dangerous sections of road, then when you reach a better one, give them some space and lo and behold, the driver is thankful to you for clearing the road ahead!

Few weeks ago, I shoulder charged a dude in oxford circus followed by me bouncing the other way and shoulder charging the rear end of the bus to my right. Not a happy camper

the other day a guy was crossing the road at some random place, hovered in the centre to wait for a car to go past then looked at me right behind it, looked me directly in the eyes, and swaggered in front of me his whole body language saying "fuck you" and daring me to get in some conflict with him
I gave him a palm in the chest and he fell on his arse, it was hilarious
somebody looked at you funny so you pushed them over?

when did i say it was illegal..... i said if you cross the road when the man is on red the cars will beep at you. ( being somewhere you are not supposed to be) you are not supposed to be in the road when the red man is on. similar to the cycle bath.... if you are on the cycle bath which you are not supposed to be then you have to expect people to bitch and moan much like people in cars with the red man. I didnt moan but instead i acted a cunt and skidded through them :D

I agree, it really annoys me when I find pedestrians in my cycle bath.

If we're going to be pedantic about it - For the purposes of teh rulez, a road is not a carriageway, and a motorway is not a road. -
