hey guys, the best way to get from gatwic to London is the train to farringdon.
forget victoria you'll get there at peaktime and go crazy.
FArringdon is closer to the east end but the train service is cheaper and is pretty close to the foundry.
Just get youselves on Clerkenwell road and go this way. -

Another question:
I talked a friend of mine out of buying a bike in NYC to take over. Where are there flea markets and decent used bike shops for him? He'd be happy with something basic, like a 3 speed raleigh. -

sweet. we should be getting in around the same time. If you want to hang out & try to find eachother at the airport, we can ride into the city together....if that's part of your plan. Just don't drop me.

word. i guess it's dublin with the indoor track. hope it's dry for sunday, seems a lot like our kissena.

The track that I raced on in Dublin was outdoors and even shallower and in worse condition than Herne hill. That was two years ago so there might be a different venue this time around. Herne Hill needs a decent run of good weather to be useable - it stays damp for a little while after wet weather.

HH drys up in about 30 mins at this time of year if there's a bit of a breeze and a little sun.....different in the winter though with low sunshine and colder temps.
although the surface is starting to rough up a bit, it's a million times nicer than Kissena and a real Oasis in South London....apart from the dilapidated buildings!hope this helps

WInston's right.
It dries pretty quick once the rain stops falling. The forecast for Sunday is good too.

That's the one I was at a couple of years ago. It's in the middle of a park in Dublin and is lumpy tarmac with very little banking. As I said, much worse than Herne Hill.

• #71

BUT. it's going to be fine from tomorrow
so they say
-
• #72
you sort of get a whole spectrum of weather in a single day.
it's been like this for the whole week basically, if not the whole 3 months we've been through.
none of us know what to expect even, it was perfectly sunny this morning when i went to work and just now i was skidding around like mad in the wet i need to buy a new tyre tomorrow.kym, i'd like to go over to NYC for a bit to be honest! especially when the weather's better and 1GBP = 2USD!
