Not if you know how to brake properly...

also its anodized (assuming you've got the black 'hardox' version) to be more resilient to brake wear and to provide a more even surface for braking for longer.

@ hellomiles - Yes I'm not an idiot, though only would use brake in an emergency.
and I'm also not getting into the argument of having a brak and not having one.Yes I do indeed.

I meant to edit 'more even' to 'more consistent'.
vocab fail.
get a brake, don't get a brake- frankly I don't care too much.
enjoy riding= correct. -

I'm not suggesting you should put a brakes on, just saying that there are option to able to run a brake without ruining the prisitine rims (which I share sympathy about, I have a lovely Mavic CX14 rims in excellent condition that I don't want to ruin).

No, I know...
it was more aimed at henrycollie...
Good to know that I can put a brake on, though I won't because as you said, I want to keep my omega rims pristine!

Lets have another brake debate..
I'm not putting brakes on any of my trackbikes, because they annoy me.. Actually they annoy me a whole lot more than the risk of face-planting it into a truck.
It is a good idea to adjust ones riding style to no brakes... Also, having done that, it saves the brakes on the geared bikes a lot ;)

soperRiva's right.
I've got a brake, but it sits in my bits bag, so I can enjoy riding brakless.
enjoying is the most important thing indeed -

Here is my bike, its a 2009 Capo bought on the cycle to work scheme. The only things left standard are the frame and forks which are probably always the best parts on otp cannondales. The cranks and chainring were powder coated by armourtex who I must say offer rerally good service at a cheap price!!
Let me know what you think! Cheers.

Well i put the black tape around the handlebars to grab the tapes in the ends.
I've read this about ten times and still don't get it

Hi Guys,
New to the site and after a few years of talking about renovating a Freddie Grubb I have finally started. I am looking for advice on m y frame and any info would be much appreciated. The frame number is 5289 and I got it from my uncle who was a keen cyclist a few years ago. I will start a new post once I get my full rights.
Obviously there are some very knowledgable people out there and it's good to know they are sharing it - great site.
