I absolutely love that bike, especially the low flange black rims with dark grey frame.

  • they're not actually black rims very dark grey, very gunmetal

  • Oh Open Pro?

  • and i thought i had long legs, oh and i agree with ed that Levant is pure porn

  • I want one.

  • Lndngirl, if you like, I'm about to retire a saddle I've always liked, you can have it if you want but it's collection from souths or hackney only. I am a lazy lady.

  • I've just been reading the specialized body geometry manual, and the deal is, although with most women it is a case of longer legs, shorter torso, what is more universally true is that women have shorter arms and smaller hands.

True... I really want to get some short shallow bars for my road bike, especially after getting into the habit of being on the top of the drops nearly all the time from riding fixed everywhere. Would get these in 40cm if I could afford them.

Not quite the same league, but I've found the Deda 4 Girls bar a pretty nice road set-up.

I'm going to kill you and steal all of your bikes. I spend most of my time trawling for big frames, and now I know why I can't find any -- you've got them all.

Apologies for the massive and rubbish mobile picture.

Bodged together in a rush this morning. Went and bought the frame (a HUGE thanks to the bloke with the tattoos (sorry I didn't even ask your name!) who sorted me with forks and a headset in no time at all), and then swapped all the bits off the old bike, which met its maker last friday (see here).

Face: no photo available, but equally bodged. Feel free to shout "do a skid", but on 100gi, it's not likely...

wow, cheap... do you know what the reach/drop is? Can't find it listed anywhere for some reason (probably shoddy googling)

I've got a pair sat on top of my wardrobe at the moment (I swapped to OS on my road bike), so I'll measure them tonight. They're also potentially for sale.

  • @Tricity for shallow bars I have the Bontrager fit VR OS Womens road bars
    The reach is 70mm
I managed to get them in 38 width and they are priced at 19.99 Really comfortable
    Oh got them from Evans
Sorry for the slackness on cut copy paste not very computer friendly hope this gives you more options

    Even Deda don't seem to include that detail on their website;

  • Btw, the Deda Newton shallow is a great shallow bar and cheaper than the Easton one above I think.

  • Just for comparison, I briefly had a pair of the Bontrager OS Womens road bars too. They were suprisingly light, which was a bonus, but I returned them pretty quickly because I found them overlyshort and shallow for me. I think that this is maybe related to the fact that a lot of big-brand womens-specific stuff tends to suit petite and average height women (5ft 4" in the UK) very well, but doesn't really cover the awkward ground of when someone is taller than that, but still narrow shouldered/small handed.

In terms of OS bars I'm pretty happy with the bars on my road bike (40cm ritchey wcs, not womens-specific), which are bargainous in the flood sale at CRC at the moment.

Edit - that's quite confusing and sounds a bit ranty. I guess what I'm trying to say is there seems to be a lot of variation between the fit in womens-specific stuff, so yeah, look closely at the specs.

what size frame do you ride ? I'm 6'6" and have a 61cm frame but my seatpost is nowhere near as high as yours ! ...just curious

  • it ranges but most are 62 c-t-t

and even cheaper are the PRO bars with the same bend. not as nice as the deda's though.
