Whilst back at my mums in Cambridge I thought I'd hook another one of these up. This is a Marlboro Woodstock that I rescued from certain death whilst on a jolly in Amsterdam. It needed a whole new front end (some awesome 531 forks for a fiver) and I'm pretty sure the frame is bent but it's possibly the best bike that I've ever ridden.
Mish mash of parts, Morrisons shopping basket, three bells because I'm that crazy, and I was in a biker gang called the Heatbreakers hence the seat paint; I was also in love with a girl hence the name Sarah.
Absolutely amazing bike to tear about on, really need to bring it back to London with me... face is still the same.

As usual I have no idea what that means, but it sounds like fun, so I will!

I've got a Marlboro Woodstock but its the mans frame. What wheels does yours take? Mine came with mismatching wheels and the rear is smaller but still too big for the frame. I'm thinking I should switch to 26 and a quarter wheels.

completely new front end, saddle and double NJS strap from Condor for less than asking price.
Bike handle much much sweeter now due to the new fork (brakeless since October, my cycling has improved dramatically and less 'near misses' due to being forced to be more careful and more aware of my surrounding).
same mug.

Thought the missus wouldn't let you go brakeless?
Nice forks BTW, they definitely go with the bike,
thought the lugs might throw it off a bit but, they dont.

Nicethe missus been riding with me for a while, she reach to the point that she can feel that I'm careful and experience enough to ride brakeless.
actually the lugwork is perfect, it's not those detailed lug, it's very subtle, it really suit the lugless Bianchi very well;

best pista ever.

That looks lovely, Ed. Are you putting black or silver bar tape on or none at all? ;)
-
• #5388
debating over that really, i got a black brooks leather bar tape I got at a discount price, I'll see what happen since I still need to ride this bike properly to see if the 110mm stem length is perfect or too long.
-
• #5389
ooh wee definitely the best pista I've seen, what is the stem?
-
• #5390
black tape would really finish it off well.

edscoble- pista looks good, how have you converted it to a threaded steerer? are there special cups to size an 1 1/8 headset down to an inch? looks more elegant without a clamp on...
-
• #5397
oh and dont tape it in my opinion... some rubber keirin grips in black on the drops would finish it off a treat.
-
• #5398
oh right yep....remember you too :)
I had them down before my brief retirement.
next time im gona put my risers on -

the Bianchi Pista have an 1¨steerer as standard, the fork was already threaded, all that left is simply changing the headset to a threaded one to fit the fork in.

next time im gona put my risers onIf I were you, I´d get another stem as well - much easier to swap over when needed, especially since it´d be quicker to swap the stem than the handlebar.
great bike too, 853 steel are a rarity!

im looking out for something slightly shorter and thomsonesque otherwise I would've got your one
those hubs have been out of production for a good 10 years as well :)
A better picture of my bike, changed the stem for a charge one now & put different saddle on it.
Edit: Forgot I have a new headset on it too, boss at work bought me a brand new FSA in exchange for an old campag record one I had!
