  • Have you considered a bike fit?

The saddle is lower for riding around london.
When on longer rides the saddle goes up.

Bike handling in heavy traffic is more important than being comfortable.

  • Don't agree at all, you could surely have both. Sounds like something skirtlove would say.

If I was a roadie, yes. But as it's a fixed gear bike and sometimes you have to hop up curbs, skid at the drop of a hat, wheelie round corners and are in and out of the saddle umpteen times during a journey... Then lowering the saddle in my 8 years of riding fixed on the streets, helps enormously.

As you can see I don't agree with you.

I had a bike fit at condor 5 years ago, I know the size of the bikes I ride.

    :)

Sounds like you ride like a prick.

  • You sound even more like skirtlove now.

Never met Skirtlove and I don't know you, but I do know myself.
I have seen people ride the craziest set ups, but in the end it's down to personal preference.

    :)

  • Don't get the in and out of the saddle thing. Sounds as if you don't have the legs for the gear you're pushing.

You cant hop up a curb sitting down or when you practice leg over the bar skids...

Maybe you don't get it because you are just a cyclist.
