love your LHT. i am in the process of collecting parts for a similar build. i want to get the disc trucker version though.

can i ask what shifters you are using with your triple crankset? i want to use a deore groupset but am stuck on what shifters will work as i want to use drop bars.

  • Hey
    This be my bike

    And this be me

  • Nice ink, but you appear to have one more rather large hole in your ear than you need...

  • I remember my first printer... It was a big day.

  • I remember mine too. A young Portuguese called Pena.

He couldn't speak a word of English, nor I Portuguese. The man I spoke to on the phone at the printers just sent him over when I asked, I only wanted a Cannon bubblejet. When the work ran out he made me cocktails and took to cleaning the pool. One day I didn't realise he was there and I had an unfortunate altercation with another young boy who had been living with me. He slipped and fell on the patio. Everything fell suddenly silent and I heard a faint gasp in the distance. It was Pena on the other side of the pool. We looked at each other momentarily before he turned and ran into the trees. I still wonder about him; he's the only one who knows what happened that day.

  • ^best csb ever!!!!!!

Or maybe I am just Fo3 biased ;-)

The Cannondale is so nice. You live in Quebec Wharf don't you? I realise that sounds a bit like a stalker but I work at the estate agents next door...

Shifters are Ultegra 8-speed bar end shifters. I wasn't sure about the idea of bar ends, but It's much easier to change gear than with downtube shifters, and safer when you've got weight on the front of the bike, and there more reliable than STI's - I'm running mine on friction because I haven't been bothered to sort the indexing out yet, but to be honest it works great as it is

  • been lurking for a while now and it seems like a good ideea to post something that would, i take it, qualify as an intro to this forum? i went through the nursery thread, so i hope i'm doing it right.

short bit about me: 22, studying architecture in bucharest, romania. this is a pic of me on my daily rider, a rebellato track bike of uncertain origin, proper pic of it as soon as i take one:

current project is an early (pre-1975) gazelle champion mondial which i'm trying to restore with period-correct parts. nuovo record rear derailleur is on its way to replace the current non-period-correct super record, waiting for cloth bar tape to arrive as well, and looking for a campy n.r. seatpost and 42t chainwheel to complete it:

some of the past bikes i feel are worth mentioning:

a 1952 pista with oscar egg lugs, built up with a mix-mash of old and brand-new parts:

which then took on a cruiser/pathracer-ish guise and ended up being owned by a brit:

a concorde aquila with a full campy athena groupset (platform pedals are massive anti, i know):

i swapped the concorde for a faggin campione del mondo which was my size (unlike the concorde) but then passed on to my brother. gorgeus frame but in quite a poor shape paint/decal-wise. some nice campy g.s. panto'd parts on it peculiarly mixed with 7400 dura-ace:

also had this koga miyata prodelta for a while. loved it to bits, did some messengering on it and once went out for a 200+ mile ride in a single day, ruined my back beyond repair i think:

so this is my hello to all of you, hope it's not too long for an intro, beer tends to make me want to share things with complete strangers.

  • Since I'm in a different time zone than most on this forum, I guess I'll be the first to say hop on board.

    thanks!

Love that path bike in its porteur bar guise.

haha, other than looking the part, those bars flipped like that offer a really awkward riding position.

good job on 200+ miles on that Koga!!

cheers! although i doubt foolishness should be congratulated, i won't be doing anywhere near that kind of distance on a lo-pro anytime soon.
