If it was me, the right drop on the handlebar would be hanging by the brake cable and the bike would not roll on the road for over 3 months. Bloody shoulder thingys!

what did you have and why did you sell it?

  • Here's me and my Ron Cooper Columbus SL and, er, Ron Cooper!

This frame is 25 years old this year and I've decided to get it back in action. May well provide some updates in current projects - it'll be a mixture of old-school (retro paint job, quill stem, lo-pro wheels built by Harry Rowland, gum wall tyres) and new stuff (conversion for STI shifting/10-speed, SRAM groupset?)

Only found out very recently that Ron is working at Colour Tech in Crayford where I'm getting it resprayed, so hopefully it will get some extra loving, care and attention. :)

  • Looking forward to it :) Any ideas on colour scheme?

  • Yes, having spent ages picking through various RAL colours and noting down numbers, it has become apparent that what I'm really after is a combination of Ferrari red and Gios blue. It'll be red with blue panels on the down tube and seat tube, "RON COOPER" on each side of the down tube and "COOPER" down the front of the seat tube in white over the blue. (No bottle brazing on the seat tube.) With the panels separated by rainbow-band stickers. Also blue head tube in front of the lugs and COOPER rainbow-band head badge decal.

Apart from the fact I like the colours, it will be a match for VC Londres club colours - this harks back to my teenage days when I was racing for the club. I recently rejoined, with a view to racing at Herne Hill this year. Not that the Ron will see any racing - it'll be strictly a Sunday-best sunny day special. :)

  • Looking forward to seeing more of this build

  • Here's me and mine.

Dumpster found Crescent - loaner bike and general don't worry cruiser.

    New Sillgey project.

KHS track frame, now with moar wider weels. (590mm = 650A)

    The beloved 'ffranck.

    Close-up.

Newest project: 1965-ish Flyer. No dead puppies, this one was too far gone for any of you lot to rescue, but on this side of the Atlantic these things are much rarer. I spent too much to bring it back, but I have no regrets. The green isn't as bright as it may seem, more grassy.

    Close-up.

    And me, mr sunshine.

Sorry for the focus, new P&S Canon, getting used to it.

  • Tiny photos

  • I see you found a bar style you like

  • More like my hands/wrists/shoulders/neck made some demands I could no longer ignore.

  • Main/favourite bike

    Lo pro

Sensible bike/"commuter" (that I rarely commute on)

    Me engrossed in karaoke selection

  • Like most of the photos so far, its out of date :)

    me:

Feel like it's time I updated this, 5 years on... God knows what bike was in that picture or what my face was.

This is what I look like now, and what I ride:

I got a brompton as well but i guess you don't wanna see that.
