• I sold some forks for 40£ in december. The buyer opts for collection and doesn't pay any postage.
He tells me that his delivery guy will pick-up on the next sunday morning. I say fine and tell him which time slot suits me, then don't hear back.... until last week. On sunday morning at 8am i receive text in Czech that wakes me up, 2 minutes later a phonecall from the driver who is actually downstairs.

Buyer likes to play it seems.

  • Just tried to make an offer on an item and got a message saying,

"Sorry, the seller isn't accepting bids or offers from you at this time. This may occur for various reasons. For example, the seller might have a limit for the amount of items that can be purchased within a given time."

And when I try to message them I get,

"We couldn't find an answer. Unfortunately, this seller isn't able to respond to your question. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing."

So it seems like the seller has taken umbrage with me for some reason.

I've dug around and eventually found some positive feedback they left me for an item they bought from me over 5 years ago that just says "Excellent".

I don't seem to have left them any.

Is that all it's about? You bought an item and I didn't leave you feedback so now your Dura Ace crankset is about to finish with nae bids? Lol!

  • Can you block buyers on ebay?

I didn't even know that was a thing...

  • If that's the case then that's very weird. I don't think I've left any feedback as a buyer or seller in at least 5 yrs.

Yeah you can block specific users I believe, along with preventing anyone with zero feedback from bidding/buying.

  • Ah well, there was a nice set of Ultegras in the related items and they’re cheaper in all.

  • Listed something during the 80% off fees thing, now the listing has "renewed". Does this mean the fees will be back to normal? Can't see anywhere what the fee is on a given listing

  • Exactly that. I usually bump the prices up until a new offer thing comes through

  • Yes based on experience

  • If it's 80% off fees, remember to revise your listing on the desktop site and uncheck the box that says "if unsold, this listing will be relisted up to, eight times...." It's another example of eBay sneak, because those offer listings are set up to get fewer views (ie less chance of a sale) than normal fee listings.

  • On a similar note, I’m going to assume that the new thing of asking if you want to pay to ‘promote’ your item each time you list something basically means ‘if you don’t pay we’re going to bury this way down in the search results’.

  • Probably been discussed before but how does this happen with the perfect feed back but, in actuality, zero good feedback? Profile is Gorruthe55, apparently a Mr Rutherford of Mile End Road in Landan. Assume this person doesn't even exist. Massive waste of time.

  • Sellers can't leave neg feedback. So they leave positive feedback with added commentary.

  • Oh, well thats handy. I hate ebay.

  • What is the context of your coming into contact with this user?

That's all feedback the account has received from sellers? Presume it's a troll account that someone is using to 'get revenge' on sellers that have wronged them?

  • He was the highest bidder on an item and then radio silence. Only then did I check the feedback and right enough its all negative. Either some sort of bot or someone finds this stuff fun, I am a perfect seller and always have been if I do say so myself.

Although I did manage to get the phrase "cuntbag" past the Ebay feedback protocol.

  • Guess there’s just no accounting for what amuses people then. Add to blocked list.

  • Won a frame, and it was dispatched fairly promptly, unfortunately Hermes are involved so it's been sat being 'processsed' in their hub since 3am Tues 8th and there is absolutely no way to be able to contact them. Was supposed to be delivered by the 9th.

I don't mind so much, except I have a bike fit booked in 23rd for it and am hoping to be racing on it at the end of the month. I'm going to have to find another frame if this doesn't work out.

Looks like eBay gives the seller 3days to respond to an 'item not received' dispute. Should I kick this off now, or stop being a cunt buyer?

  • Bought a baby carrier on ebay. Bought it from someone in Luton, I live in London, the backpack ended up being delivered to a random in Bolton (via London) for some reason.

No idea what's going on and the seller seems equally confused.

  • Not sure if they’re going to be able to shed much more light than:

it's been sat being 'processsed' in their hub since 3am Tues 8th and there is absolutely no way to be able to contact them.

at which point eBay will just consider it still in transit until Hermes decide it’s lost, or manage to deliver it.

Obviously cunt seller for using Hermes regardless, but that aside.

  • I've got some suspension forks on eBay. Had 2 buyers message me now, both asking me to post to Peru. The first guy sent me about 6 messages before I'd even responded.
Very odd. Shan't be sending anywhere unless through GSP

  • I bought some bits off eBay, Hermes usual shitshow and lost the parcel.
seller posted out a replacement, 2 days later the original parcel showed up which I then had to return.
    hermes are fucking clowns.
BTW they have now rebranded as EVRI so make sure to avoid them as well.

  • Evri - hah yeah I had the pleasure of making the first (shitty) comment on their brand new Insta account. Turns out the package my seller sent was too large, but it took them nearly a week to tell him.

  • My item sold again which is good....to another troll...which is bad. I'm done with Ebay.

  • I’ve been keeping an eye out for SRAM AXS bits on eBay for a few weeks and groupsets keep popping up at too good to be true prices, based in France, some future posting date listed, seller never has any feedback, eg:
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sram-red-etap-axs-electronic-road-kit-1x12-speed-hrd-ships-by-6th-april-/165389314444?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=709-127639-2357-0

Obviously looks like a scam, anyone got any idea how it works? Just curious to know! I’ve seen at least 10 of these listings this year.

  • Bought something very saleable on ebay, collection only, then requested to cancel it (long story).

They seller agreed, said will refund soon. They then immediately relisted the item, sold it within an hour, and didn't message again. I messaged in the afternoon asking "I see you have relisted and sold this again, please let me know when the refund will be processed".

No response at all. Seems a bit sketchy, so I just click through the paypal thing to send screengrabs of the messages. They send me a snotty ass message this morning:

Please ensure you actually want an item before you order and pay for it.

Your refund is well within accepted ebay time scales so please don't then institute a dispute procedure when the problem is entirely yours.

    Thanks

Thing is, I had ebay call and they told me they haven't even begun the refund process. But! Ebay cannot override it for 7 days. For £200, it's not like it's pennies.

EDIT: they are now claiming they 'ok'd the refund. hmm.
