So, then, just leave it be. You don't want it and he doesn't want to sell it. Job done, case closed.

The seller has the power to select "buyer and seller mutually agreed not proceed with the transaction" or something, which would then send yourself an email to confirm that's the case... then the item sale disappears.
Also, eBay is still just a "meeting ground" for buyers and sellers legally, so I personally wouldn't pay for something that the seller doesn't want to get rid of... endless trouble.

Tell him to cancel the auction and you'll send him £235 as a PayPal gift.
It costs you the same, and he'll pocket the same as if sold for £250 via eBay with the fees.

Hey all, So I just took on a job listing and selling all of The Ravonettes music equipment (amps, pedals etc.) If you don't know the band They are a pretty high profile indie band with shit loads of fans out there.
Anyway, I am going to get 10% of whatever they sell their equipment for. So depending on what everything goes for I could either make a little or a lot.
I need some ideas about how I should sell this stuff. I will most likely sell it all on ebay, but if someone has any other ideas my ears are open.
I need to make sure that the sale is focused on the fact that it's The Ravonettes equipment in order to make as much £££ as possible. I've never really done a real big advertised sale on ebay.
Are their any ebay wizzes here that know the in's and out's of putting up a high profile sale??

Try through their fansite first? Some of might pay extra for the kudos. What's on the list?
I can't help with ebay, I can barely get it to host photos nowadays (grumble grumble).

yer definately go for the fan club. and if not just start plugging the URl of your ebay account in every indie blog there is.
although i pride myself on indie music and ive never heard of them -

If you are selling amps then the transport costs may be prohibitive. Offer a delivery/pickup service if anyone close to the storage area wins the auction.
As Snowy said try the fan club first.

is it the The Ravonettes or The Raveonettes?

The first one.
Man, you should charge a consultation fee to help buyers get stuff on the bay. He said he couldn't part with it for less than £250 (£15 quid - how petty).
I don't particularly want it now I won a Chesini yesterday as well... never bid hungover...
