All sorts of shenanighans going on at the first public meeting of the UCI's independent commission today with the UCI moving to postpone it due to issues with the WADA code and a Truth and Concilliation process.

The Commission have basically accused the UCI of using this as a way of stopping their work.

I've (just) watched both of the Oprah interviews. I have to admit to being captivated by them. Totally fascinated by him, a socio-path with the walls - finally crashing down around him. I have to say though, that I **didn't **find it insincere. I think thats as close to candid as you'll get from him.

To adopt an LA idiosyncrasy; Do I think he will regain the the trust of those he sought to persecute for daring to call him a cheat? No, probably not. I mean, LeMond, Kimmage, Walsh, Andrieus, etc.

Im genuinely glad he came clean in the end. What a sordid tale though. He did his best to ruin professional lives s and careers. Forgiveness is a reward for the wronged party, it gives closure to the bitterness and hatred harboured for those who we feel have crossed us.

LA will live with his misdemeanour's forever.

Does anyone else envisage the Truth and Reconciliation thingie as riders sitting around in a circle like an AA meeting? 'Hi mine name is Alberto, I am the AC in the Fuentes papers..'

Not sure I'd happy with it, admit to doping then get a soft ban if you're riding then return to the sport to carry on making a living, despite all the money you've already cheated out of the sport. And if you're not riding then you're running a team, or coaching, or a DS, so passing on your dubious moral values to a new generation
