  • Cheers all

  • i know nothing about plug's only the one in my bath.....which is shit!
    anyway.......ello!

  • its not an arroplug is it? they are rubbish..

  • probably......got it at a jumble sale for what seemed like a bargain

  • I wouldn't use shit to plug your bath, mate. It'll just dissolve and make the water mucky

    hello!

  • someone mentioned the superted has been approached by charge and wants to sponsor him. true or not?

  • he said as much to me on Sunday, when he was having a go of mine.

  • I was in BLB yesterday and they had a Plug in stock if you want to try one - had a couple of other off-the-peg bikes too. Plug looks great but it's heavier than I am. But it's way, way more fun to get a frame and build it up yourself - it's not hard and it needn't be more expensive.

  • Thanks Fatbloke
I'll try and get down there tomorow.
I would love to build a bike up from scratch, but I know it would end up taking too long, and I'd end up with a room full of half assembled bits and a cross wife.

Just like that time I decided I could fix the washing machine...

  • dogsballs someone mentioned the superted has been approached by charge and wants to sponsor him. true or not?

Yep, 'tis true. He got the bike yesterday.

  • awesome, is it the standard jobby or customised? which model?

  • this reminds me of an advert for a charge in a magazine - had pink deep vs, didn't know they came as standard

  • Standard jobby Plug - small size (53)
he's changed the wheels already not sure what else he'll do to it.

  • A friend of mine is looking for a cross bike basically, steel frame and 700c rims to take fat rubber. The current fave is a Surly CrossCheck, but I wondered the Charge is probably a stout enough frame. The Tap looks ideal but is there clearance for 38 or 42 tyres? I assume the Plug will have similar clearance, and someone here must be able to measure one!

I've contacted charge but not got a response yet!

  • Ted recently did the Salisbury Winter Challenge on a plug but he had to swap the forks out to accommodate the fatter tires...

  • Hello,

I have just received some new hubs for my new wheel build. Quick question, what width is the rear hub on a Plug frame 120mm?? I should of checked before I ordered but as usual, jumped in with both feet and just ordered them.

    Any help much appreciated.

  • i presume it is a 120mm

  • Hey! I'm looking to order a Charge Plug. Problem is, I don't live in England and nobody nearby stocks them, so it makes sizing one up difficult. I'm about 5"11' and I'm guessing medium size is what I want, but I'm open to suggestions. Any Plug owners out there who could help? Thanks!

The sizing chart looks like this:

  • Yeah, I'd say medium for you. That's not a great sizing chart! Normally the measurement of choice is the seat tube c-t (center of BB shell to top of seat tube). Their STL measurement seems to be from the base of the BB shell to the top of the seat tube.

    I'm 6ft and i take around 56/57cm. I'd guess that the medium would be about 56cm c-t.

  • bombproof, they are

  • The Charge Plug's frame is just perfect for everyday street cycling without the harsher ride of a pure track bike, I would've got one had they not been sold out and brought a Bianchi Pista instead.

    56/57 concur.

  • medium, although at 5'11" a large size might be warranted.

  • I'm 5' 9" and I've got the Medium, so yeah the Large for you I reckon.
It fits me fine, but is a bit of a stretch on long rides; I may get a shorter stem.

Great choice of bike by the way; it's my first fixie and I bloody love it!

  • bombproof, they are

    ffs

  • ffs

what would be an better alternated? suicide-bombproof?
