Cav is all acceleration. Too early or too late, and he'll lose it.
In this respect it should be easier once hes grabbed the wheel of the next fastest guy, than to time your own train. Just need to get that wheel.

^that, Gossy always seems to be travelling faster than Cav when they cross the line but his jump is so vicious Goss just can't claw it back

I always felt he would have been better off with roles reversed, when big Thor/ Pettachi used to infiltrate the HTC train and nick points off him.
Must be a shitter looking back and seeing him on your wheel. Should you go early, and have to claw back, or late and risk not having the time to claw back if he passes you.
Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

the way Boassen Hagen is being hyped for this tour, you'd think he'd at least sneak into someone's top 5?

Sagan is nicking all the stages he could possibly win..... :(

any quick thoughts on who could be strong in the mountains whose not going to be a GC contender, any names spring to mind?

^ +1
Cav still the quickest, so its up to the others to find ways of beating him, to be cleverer with their train. Saying that and doing it are two different things: Cav is very good at positioning himself and I think his size makes him difficult to pick out. That size also helps him draft riders better, and gives people less of an advantage drafting him. I've noticed Sagan looks for his wheel on the flat finishes
cav is prob the easiest in the bunch to spot wearing a yellow helmet and a wc jersey :D

Seems Sagan is the first ever stage winner born after 1990.
They get younger every year (apart from Jens who gets older) -

Not when he's limpet-like directly behind you, just before he kicks and goes past you
Plus Cav has shown he can kick, then go again. He won that stage in the Giro where he kicked, got checked by a rider, got a gap, kicked again and won it. The only stage Goss won there was when Cav got taken out by Ferrari

Who caused that crash then?
inrng had a good suggestion. Though to be honest I've never seen this intentionally done (and commented on) before in all my many (3...) years of watching pro cycling
