Yeah I don't have a dremel, not sure I fancy cutting it, but will find a bolt on solution to seat post or stay cross bracket. But for now it's fine.

Or bend it to fit.
It will rattle till you attached it on the chain stay bridge.

It doesn't rattle as I said, my temporary fix gives a silent ride even over bumps. It just needs a more aesthetically pleasing solution which I will work out. Still wont fit if it was bent, there's not enough space. If I add a hald link to the chain I might be able to get it in if i slide the back wheel all the way back, maybe...

What's the opinion on these tuck away mini mudflaps? do they work or just a waste of money?
British summer is on it's way and i don't want foul looking mudguards on my thoroughbred machines.

No.
Next question.

No.
Next question.
Do you have experience of these? in what way are they ineffective?
-
• #683
Have you seen them? they're a piece of plastic that's about as big as your hand and only barely enough to stop the water from trickling down into your anus and rinse it.
Proper mudguard or >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Just ghetto one from a milk carton. Keeps your arse dry enough and takes about 30 seconds to make. Chuck it when it dries up.

One of the guys staying in the B&B had one on his bike for the Fred Whitton this weekend. Said it was useless. Mind you, given the amount of water falling from the ski, quite often horizontally, the water coming up off the ground paled into insignificance.

I'd be more interested if it was mounted lower, but at that height, it's basically the ass saver that was ripped to shreds just above.

If you can get hold of a kashimax rail tail, you'll be sorted. Wish I could find one.

I got mine from Tokyo Fixed, I think they still have them in the shop.
Only work with certain saddle, Brooks' a no-no, as well as Fizik.

They do still have them Ben - not that effective though?!

That's nothing to the Conti tyres and valve cap.

Better than not having one, and they are practically invisible when folded away. Surely a win no?
-
• #694
It is if it fit your saddle rail.

• #695
True, and it doesn't - I'm an Arione lover. Oh well.

I'm sure this has been discussed many times before but can someone help me out quickly; I need a clip on mudguard which is reliable (ish) and helps guard against the summer shower?
Cheers...

Sks race blades. Fairly cheap and work well.
-
• #698
Thanks for that, I'm running 38s so I think these might not fit.
Was looking at a seatpost fitting system a la SKS S Blade...

Least it keep the most important part of you dry: the back.
Edit:
Just realised SKS released a new line of mudguard, the Velo 55 Cross fit the bill;

They're not quick release ed....
