At what size 650b tyre can you start to use 700 guards? I heard rumors of 2.1" being the magic number

Cheers, will order the ASR stays and try it out. Ease of use a big plus for this sort of thing.

I found the Secu Clips a bit more sturdy - with those the standard metal stay clips into the plastic housing attached to the eyelet, whereas the ASR uses a plastic tab that bolts to the eyelet & then clips into another plastic housing that's fixed to the stay. I found the ASR plastic tab tends to snap off, leaving the plastic tab stuck in the stay part & causing mild ball-ache

Yeah at what point will 26" guards not work? I have a pair of unused 26" bluemels and will likely get my daughter a 27.5" cruiser type bike with 2" tyres. Debating whether to get a pair of guards for it when I order, or will the ones I've got probably work?
Edit: answering my own question. Curvature is fine at least. This is the front 26" sks guard on top of a 2.6" 27.5 mtb tyre.

650b x 40c ... would the 700c 53mm sks bluemels work? or would I go 26"?
I have mudguards on my other 650b bike but I can't seem to work out where they came from or what they are.

Evans had some good 650b guards when I last looked

FWIW, on my 650x47's I use 60mm Velo Orange 26" mudguards. Fit like a glove. I find they actually fit better than all the 650b specific mudguards i've had.

Anyone want some 52mm 650b VO Zeppelins in black? I need to go bigger
-
• #4118
yeah i might be keen. but I'm running 38c ... is that too small?
-
• #4119
That’s plenty of space - I’d be interested in these too and I run 42mm.

42ish is the most appropriate size. I'll investigate replacement options today.

any idea what would work best for 65Ob 38c (they come up around 39mm)?
Blumels come in 45 ... is that too tight a fit? the next size up is 53
-
• #4122
would probably be fine. ~10 mm greater is ideal. Depends on the tyres and where you ride, to an extent

Do hojo fix into a van nic Yukon with caliper breaks. Have pwd, but they are too narrow for 25mm. Plus the rear bridge just keeps slipping and rubbing on the wheel.

I have some Velo Orange Zeppelins 52mm 650b silver guards that are a little tight for my 47 horizons.
Fitted but never been outside.
Any interest?

SimWorks makes a rear bridge doodad for bikes with subpar space.

I had a stick in my spokes just like in their video
last week and the ASR joint unclipped as advertised and was easy to put back together, not sure if the Secu Clips are better though.
