This^ is the way to go, great invention, just a shame they're so pricey.
Disappointed about the lack of crown mount on my Reynolds fork, I really can't see any reason not to have one as the crown is Aluminium under the carbon anyway.

Is there a secret way of keeping a SKS S-Blade to the seat post? Found one kicking about at home so was thinking of upgrading the arse saver to this, but in test it just doesn't tighten enough to hold itself in place.

I wonder what percentage of bikes are designed in California...

Genius, we have some of that in the office.

m?
I was referring to the fact that so few decent bikes come with braze-ons for fenders. -

That bike was designed in California.

yes, that is my point - not just that one though

Right, I've fitted my longboards to my disc fork with mounts midway up the fork legs. What a sodding hassle. Offered them up, marked the stays, took them off, bent the stays, offered them up, bent them more, offered them up, bent them less and so on. Finally got them fitted and the surplus bits of stays chopped off with a dremel.
All good now except the front/top end of the guard seems to bend off to the left. No idea why, my old chromoplastics were the same.
Anyway, I hope I never have to fit another set of these things.

Forgive me if this seems dumb, but why all the custom bending of the struts -wouldn't it work just as well for there to be a gradual arc back to both brackets? That way the bending would virtually take care of itself as you attach them. I've never done a mid-fork install, thus my incredulousness.
-

IME the bending doesn't really "take care of itself" as the stays are too rigid for that. Personally, I prefer an arc as opposed to a sharp bend but that's just me. Probably easier to make both sides the same if you just do a bend rather than an arc as looking at my pomp right now, I think the 2 sides are a bit different.

I have no idea how you'd put an arc on them. You can't have them under any great degree of tension or they'll just push the mudguard away as they try to straighten up. Also the change in angle is quite severe, especially for the top mount...
I like the idea though, would save the hassle of bending them.

I've found it impossible to resolve my mudguard vs front mech situation by bending the GB so I'm going back to a 6700 front mech in the hope the shifting won't be fucked.

I have no idea how you'd put an arc on them.
I arced mine by bending them over my thigh.
-
• #2145
Shifting won't be fucked, just felt noticeably less light compared to the 6800.
Also required a considerable amount of fine tuning due to difference in cable pull.
-
• #2146
What is the difference in cable pull? Does 6800 pull more or less and what does that mean?
-
• #2147
Does the 5500 levers work with the TRP 8.4?
-
• #2148
Better then the 7700 brifters with the 6500 brakes.
-
• #2149
The 6700 rear derailleur probably only works with the 5500 brifters as the hanger is bent.
-
• #2150
How does it look?
Guess it must be. Oh, and thinking about it - even if I dremel the bracket to fit around the brake nut, I'd still struggle as the hole at the back means the nut is sunken and the wide bit sits flush to the back of the fork...
