  • First pothole will sort that out :)

Proper low though, needs some downlight LEDs.

  • Two thing.

If that worried you, then move the flap closer to the front wheel, the gap is quite big.

Alternated option which you just answered your own question; mount it to the front of the fork.

  • Would be great with some white mudflaps, for that hint of yesteryear.

    Thanks.
    I like your idea.
Do they exist in white, these rubbery German ones that attach to the mudguards without needing to drill... Were posted here few weeks ago...

  • Yep, I got some from SJS a while back, not sure if they still have them, think Starlike.com might have them ... In fact I might still have one in its package ... but two would be nattier...

  • Mine sporting a set of SKS Commuters. 35mm wide Aluflex, for tyres 18-28mm/700

Fitting time revolved around a bottle of red wine to complete. With a short test ride next day and readjustment.
So far so good. Should trim down the front stay's but so far not been an issue.
Came with allen key and some nuts and bolts, i needed more than supplied as my eyelets on the frame are not threaded.
May add a front flap extension later.

  • 26" equivalent of 700x45 Longboards?

  • 26" mudguards are not easy to get in long by SKS, according to someone up there^

Get some GBs and add mudflaps.

  • Can anyone recommend some mudguards for a dolan FXE?

  • closet decent one I can get is the GB in 26" Long, plus add the mudflap.

Just fitted the GB, actually a doodle with only a dremel for the seatstay bridge.

  • Cheers yes GB do look better and seem to have better fittings too. Can you get GB in black though?

  • Nope.

    Paint them.

  • No sadly, it look weird on my Elephant.

    60mm X 700c is massive on it, enough for 50mm 650b tyres

  • Will this combo work?
steamroller, longboards and 32mm Maraphone suprimes (on cxp 33)
or do I need to size down to 28mm tyres?

  • you can go wider (tyre) .. marathons come up narrow esp on a non-wide rim.

  • Just don't use 35mm longboards

  • Thanks, wasn't sure about rear if 32 tyre and mudguard will fit

  • It's a Steamroller.

Look at max tyres clearance and you'll see how a 45mm mudguard can, and will fit.

35mm is for those road bike with normal brakes and tiny clearance.

  • 60mm x 700c GB with 42mm x 650b tyres.

Plenty of clearance for up to 55mm 650b.

Piece of piss with dremel only on the wishbones stay.

  • Single alu stay mean there's more clearance for disc caliper;

  • Can we have that link again for these big mudflaps from Germany?
Looked on sjs as skully suggested but what they have looks tiny compared to the above...

  • They're not exactly big (very wide tho), they won't be idea for your VO mudguard.

When fitted, it's only like 10mm longer, best to make your own.

On my GB, it's marginally longer because the GB stay are nearer the end of the mudguard, again I benefit from fitting proper mudflap.

  • Tidy installation there Ed, more generous spacing than you used to espouse.

  • Apols @veLLo, out-of-date information I think. Story of my life.
