26" mudguard, around 50-55mm too.
Unfortuantely not many choice for a long one, if you want to go for 700c, get the 53mm version.

yep installed it yesterday

Am I completely off it to think this would make a half-decent track bike mudguard?
-
• #1880
Probably work the same as a seatpost mounted one.
-
• #1881
Closer to the tire (like that) will be an improvement over seat post mount, I'll bet the sides will make a difference too.
Your legs will still get soaked though. -

Black hammered VO were back in stock on fresh stripe, just ordered that... If stay issues, I'll know what to do, but I had VO guards before with no problems though.

Nice!

Steeper angle (about 30deg?) might offer more arse coverage.
This might offer more leg and arse coverage, not sure how sturdy, but easily removed and can be rolled up: http://www.musguard.com/

If money is not a problem you can always use two rear mudguards
-
• #1887
Or use the Longboard/Velo Orange with mudflap.
-
• #1888
But there's a 26" longboard?

Thing with 650b, that both 26" and 700c actually fit.
700c 45mm will fit, as well as the bigger 26" (from 55mm) also fit.
Diameter of a 42mm 650b tyres is actually nearly identical to a 23mm 700c wheels, hence why the 700c mudguard can fit (as long it's 45mm or more)

I went with 50mm 700c chromoplastics for my 650b 42mm tyers; work a treat! Its better to go 700c and get longer stays as you can always cut them.

So after totalling my front honjo guard not too long ago I'm looking for a replacement. I doubt I can get just the front as a replacement so probably looking at a fresh set.
I really rate the honjo ones for weight/quality but the price is pretty harsh on the wallet, and a ballache to source them anyway.
What do people think of the VO copies? Is the length as good as what you can get from honjo?
@edscoble i'm sure you've got something to add hereTempted by the black
how I'm currently set up minus the front guard.

While the Honjo one are amazing, it's far from cheap.
The Velo Orange one is actually quite good, my girlfriend rode with her for quite some time (650b hammered one), and they're solid.
She destroyed her rear one on account of ignoring the rattling cause by loose bolt on the brake bridge, but apart from that, it's flawless.
Only nag is that the front is a little short, so a mudflap is advisable (Brompton's own is a great classic size and shape).

but apart from that, it's flawless.
Cool, and yeah I needed to sort my act out and put flaps on my Honjos for ages. Will look into brompton flaps.
Saw this mutilation of some honjo guards and want to cry...
Apparently he found them too difficult to fit so cut them into raceblades instead :| -
• #1895
Of course he found it difficult, there's no clearance with that big tyres.

Speaking of Sugru, the great thing about them is that you can finally hide the zip tie by sticking it inside of the fork.

Also for the retrogrouch;

try sticking your light cables with Sugru,
the great thing about them is that you can finally hide the zip tie by sticking it inside of the fork.
That's what he just said haha
Interesting though! I've not considered using the stuff before. Cheers
Whats the go-to mudguard setup for tarck bieks? SKS race blades with some of the Crud road racer ends stuck on? or would just the Cruds be sufficient. No brake holes and columbus max fork if that helps
