My new Raceblade longs lasted 2 weeks of commuting before the rear snapped at the stays. Not overly impressed. E-mailed pic off to SKS to see what they say. Hoping they may just send out a new one/part and save me the hassle of speaking to Planet-X and seeing about a return/refund/exchange since I can't be chewed sending the bust ones back.

Impressed.
E-mailed SKS last night at about 5pm with a pic of the snapped mudguard and got a reply at 8am saying a new one is on the way FOC. Big thumbs up to SKS.

I just fit a set of crud road racers, I'm pretty sure I've done a terrible job but at least I managed to restrain myself from throwing the whole bike out of the window. Am I really stupid or are the supplied instructions absolutely useless?

they are shit mudguards

i really rate the front guard

They're 100% better than no mudguards, which is generally the alternative option for people who have them.

@ltc YouTube the video instructions, without them they are useless. They aren't instant fitting either, with my ones it took a day of gently resting stuff on the mudguard to bend it slightly back as it had bent a little in the box. Once set fine all last winter but doubt I will get them again.

Mine were doing fine till my plampf of a colleague went to put my bike up in the wall hooks the other day and snapped the rear one.

This.
They're not even tricky to setup if you do as instructed and follow the video.

I did not know there was a video! What an idiot. They did alright on there first, short ride earlier, kept my feet and buns dry. The rear flap on the rear guard snapped off as I popped the bike onto its rear wheel to get into the lift. It'll happen every day so I won't bother reattaching it. It'd be rare to have someone directly behind me anyway.

Just tried to set up my crud roadracer mk2s and found there was only three screws in each little bag. Presumably you need 4 per guard - 2 to fit the each stay to the guard and 2 to fit the tip and tail to the guard. Am I being stupid or do I need to email Crud for more screws?
-
• #1372
@ltc It's worth having the rear flap attached, even if you just use the shorter one. IIRC it keeps a fair bit of spray of your own rear end, not just the flouro cunt on your wheel.
@chris0 The 3 in each bag should be for attaching the leg part to the main guard - you need 2 to do this, so the 3 included leave you a spare. The shorter screws for the tips/tails should be packaged along with them, and the screws for the leg/stay attachment are already in place IIRC (again).

I hadn't thought of using the shorter one, 2 weeks without a day off taking it's toll on my mental faculties!
