Have you already taken them off? Any pics? I want to try PDWs because even I am not sure if they will fit on my biek ..
-
• #1303
^No I havn't taken them off yet but will probably have to move back to raceblade long... I think the front guard is the major problem... I can't move the bracket up any further because the rivets holding it to the guard are touching the underside of the brake caliper... PM me your email address and I'll send some photos (work computer does not allow any uploading!)

Got the fixie skidder ready for winter today as the weather was fucking foul when i left work.
Loads of people seem to have problems with the SKS raceblade shorts but this is my 3rd winter with them and I have really found them to be rock solid once fitted correctly.
I have found that they do 'bounce' a bit which can cause a bit of buzz or damage to the paint, so this year i'm trying a new approach:
Also trying something with my Spech Romin as its seemingly designed to channel water right into your arsehole.
Bit of milk bottle makes all the difference.

Would have loved PDWs for £50 last week. Grr.

• #1306
Is that bike is what I think it is, sell the frame.
-
• #1307
Yeah thats FM066; its my everyday boyo. If I sell I'll have to get an annual travel card ..
I want a light, Di2 compatible, not so pricey frame to race on next year. I was actually tempted to get the madone 2.1 and drill holes for Di2 given it has the same geo as my other madone and can take 'guards but I think it will end up being too heavy .. so in my 'confused' state I'd rather ride what I have i.e. FM066.

Your Rychtarski is a perfect winter bike once you add your Di2 and PDW to it.

For the ultimate consolidation what I need is a CAAD10-esque frameset that can take 'guards (PDW) and Di2 and doesent cost a lot.

My bike seems to have the wrong angle of seatstays to accept SKS Raceblades. Any other suggestion for easily removable mudguards that cover a 28mm tire, with a rear end without mounting points and a fork with disc brake?
-
• #1311
Bend the mudguard stays to the right angle?
-
• #1312
Thought about that. But rather than destroying a pair of mudguards in my attempt to make them fit, I'd like some that fit out of the box.
Oh well, worth a try...

Topeak offer some sort of clip on/stay mount guards, can't remember what they're called and no idea if they're any good.

• #1314
TheCAAD10 have decent clearance for a PDW and 25mm tyres, you should fit them on your CAAD10.
-
• #1315
No, scratch that, you sold that one as well.
-

samsies
Then again the CAAD10 I had didnt have removable braze ons for Di2 like the newer CAAD10s.
Edward do you mind posting some tyre clearance pics from your CAAD10?
-
• #1317
Fuck me. If you're that fucked about having mudguards buy a bike that's meant to have them.
-
• #1318
If they are still going I'll take them. I have been umming and arring about getting a pair, you might have decided for me.

The max size I managed is a native 30mm tyres which is fag paper clearance, PDW will fit.
You'll have to wait till I get a new job with a living salary before I get a CAAD10.

Buy me a house where I can store 3+ bikes ..
The idea is to consolidate race bike and everyday bike. Take mudguards out; I know painful but cant do it any other way.
I have a lovely frameset (that I can only keep as frameset for now) that can take guards and thicker tyres with long drop brakes.

Is that your CAAD10 ed? Any better clearance close ups? I wont go beyond wide rims (doubtful) and 25c tyres.
-
• #1322
It's not mine, and if you're so concern, get a road bike with R785 instead.
-
• #1323
I dont think I can race on discs yet ed ..
-
• #1324
Wait, you sold the Trek Madone as well??
-
• #1325
Not starting racing on that
I picked up some 30mm pdw's yesterday, spent hours last night trying to persuade them over wide rims and 25mm tyres and past my front mech adaptor... eventually got the wheels spinning freely but on the ride into work this morning realise that there is not enough clearance - I don't really want to go down to 23mm tyres, nor do I want to butcher the guards with a dremel (yet) so just wondering...
(TL;DR) - anyone want the pdw's for £50?
