I definitely have some. various tail bits and screws. you welcome to them. I'm home in Dalston all day if you need... i also have some very strong double sided tape that prevents them falling off

If anyone wants some cruds, I have so many bits and pieces all over the place. You're welcome to take them all off me and try to assemble.
Yours for no $£$£$£$£$£$. -

Will PDW Full metal fenders work with 7900 brakes? Or do they need long drop?

• #1261
Does it extrude fenders as well?

Hi - I'm looking for better/full mudguard suggestions for my commuter. I use 25mm schwable marathon plus tires and therefore have absolutely no space between the tire and the brake callipers. I tried using a set of CrudProducts Roadracer 2 and they do not fit at all. Wondering if there is another style of mudguards I should be using? Perhaps ones which come in two separate pieces so I can put one piece in front of the brakes and the other behind? Photos are there:

@MitzEclipse use an sks raceblade and go upto/from/around the caliper.

25mm Marathon Plus is closer to 28mm, also Roadracer just about fit with normal 25mm tyres.
Would suggest going for Durano Plus in 25mm to increase clearance and move the wheel further into the drop out to increase clearance.
That bike look to fit 23mm and mudguard, the other drastic change is to convert it to 650b.

Thanks @Clockwise and @edscoble. What set of mudguards are fitted to the bike in the last photo? I can't zoom in clear enough but it looks like the mudguards are actually in two pieces...? One longer piece behind the caliper and one in front?
Re the suggestion of the SKS Raceblade - I've had these on a different bike, they're ok however I've never got through a winter season without issues with rubbing/noises etc... they're a bit finicky but might be my only other option. The new 650b wheel set and change of tires is a good idea, however don't want to put much more money into this bike.
Thanks again

they work with 6800, so should be fine

I have some spares/bits of them I got freecycled to me that I won't need once another set I ordered arrived, let me know and you can have them to play about with.

Thanks @Clockwise - just was looking at that link and looks like the raceblade long version only is for 23mm which is a pity as this is just what I need actually but I like to ride at least 25mm for commuting (I'd go wider if the frame could take it!)

Can you take a pic pls? I am interested in seeing the clearance between guards and caliper .. I'll post the clearance I currently have with a 25mm tyre and 7900 brake.
I am currently using SKS Raceblade long. Although they are the best you can get for a bike that isnt made for 'guards they are long way from perfect coverage. They are good at keeping you dry etc but not so good for keeping the bike clean.

The 7900 like the other new Shimano brakes have wider clearance than the original, meaning the PDW will work.

I finally got the SKS Bluemels fitted over the weekend. They don't feel quite as sturdy or well-built as the Chromoplastics, but they do look better, so hey ho.
Probably should have used the time I spent fannying around waiting to get them fitted to save for PDW guards.
Pics pending!

I have the same guard, I reckon it's because there's no alu strip inside it that kept it stable.

It says on the packaging that there is though, it says it's the same foil sandwiched between plastic stuff. These ones rattle more than the Chromoplastics did as well, but I think that's something I can solve.

I haven't got any images, but can get a couple if you really need them. On my front wheel I have PDWs with 25c gatorskins on H+ Son TB14 rims and the brake pads are right at the bottom of the caliper reach, but work fine. The calipers are 6800s, which I think have the same shape as 7900s? It's tight, but I've got them working with 25c and they definitely work with 23c tyres (I have the narrower version of the PDW guards).

Shitty phone pics would be great!
Cruds are shit. Rub rub rub, crack crack, break break.
