Welcome to modern bikes :-)
Quill stem'd old frames may look nice to some but give me a stiff modern setup any day. Stiff doesn't mean uncomfortable which you have noticed with the BMW by the sound of it.

yeah, ed when'd/ where'd you get a bmw?
-
• #129
He's borrowing one.

I rode one of the new BMW's a few weeks ago. I was very impressed. Solid geometry, and built really well. Inspired confidence, and a big grin, while riding.

Not that I'm ever going to get one but how do you size a BMW? - 40cm, 46cm, 50cm?!?!
-
• #132
I rode the "medium" and it felt fine, maybe a tad small (but not enough top want for a larger size). For reference, I usually ride a 56cm/57cm road frame.

Yep, nothing useful like an effective top tube length can be found on the frame specs. Have to get your protractor out and use the measurements given to work it out!

They have effective TT lengths on the frame specs online. Look harder ;)

Whoops, silly me. I was using
http://www.brooklynmachineworks.com/ and clicking on bikes/gangsta track
instead of
http://www.brooklynmachineworks.com/site/
Which is completely different! Needs a bit of sorting out I think. That's my excuse, oh and I wear glasses :-)

No excuses needed. I should have mentioned that they have two different sites.

An odd setup. First site looks cleaner, second site has more info. One for aesthetes the other for nerds...
-
• #139
The one with the info is the older site. I dont know why, when the built the new one they didnt include the frame dimensions . . .
The new site is miles better tho :)

I just need to stay off both sites. The more I look at them them more I want one. Started off hating them. Much like Olives in fact.

The Gangsta Track is a gorgeous frame. It often gets built very badly but when you see them up close they are super nice. And from what Mr. Ed is saying, they ride nice too :)
I would still like one to build as a trick bike.

Trickster^^^^^

• #144
Yup! :)

• #145
They don't just ride nice, they ride superbly nice.

I rather like the naked one and the pale olive green one;
-
• #147
Yeah man, both fit as fuck. Not sure I'd be able to pick between those two.
-
• #148
Do they finish it in matte black? that would look killer.
