  • one day i will cure my itch for a V1... althought i swear donohue would be nowhere as near as stiff/robust as a bmw v1?

I rode Doktor P's gangsta... Pretty similar I think in terms of stiffness... The Donohue is tig'd oversize 853, it's pretty damn stiff.

I think the only advantages of the bmw would be that it took bigger tyres, and more resistant to dings/dents.

  • V1 and friends..

Quoted for new page. Awesome bunch of friends you have there!

  • Just picked up my V1 in size 46.

  • i always dreamed of a gangsta, but i don't wanted to have those huge saddle-handlebar-drop like indra (i'm 6.3ft) i decided to buy a custom orlowski.

    however, still a great workhorse/cx-frame.

  • ^^ Pron in that colourway

  • That raw v1 is nice.
    Do you have the forks?

  • Was your old one smaller Jere?

  • TM, the older one was 50 and it went to another chap in exchange.

Yep I have the OG fork in black. I love the raw, especially the weldings looks imo good as hell:

  • ^looks great. I tried to recreate that with mine, shame armourtex couldnt manage it

  • i always dreamed of a gangsta, but i don't wanted to have those huge saddle-handlebar-drop like indra (i'm 6.3ft)

Ive always been put off by that too

  • You have to remember though that indra has the most fucked up height to saddle height ratio ever....

  • You also have to remember, the BMW's fork is a lots longer at around 410mm, a CX fork is around 395mm.

My Short Gangsta have a 135mm headtube, to put it in perspective, if it were made to have a 395mm CX fork, the headtube would have to be around 150mm.

  • How tall are you and what is your inseam, Indra?

  • You also have to remember, the BMW's fork is a lots longer at around 410mm, a CX fork is around 395mm.

but the top tube measurement is the one that counts for me

  • I thought you were talking about saddle to bar drop or stack heigh

  • That what I thought, the smaller headtube compensate for the really long fork.

  • to be honest, i meant both (drop and tt)

  • How tall are you and what is your inseam, Indra?

I'm about six foot one and inseam is a bit over 36 inches.

  • Mutant

  • Ed did you ever get the kinesis pure cx fork when you used to have your brooklyn?? Have you got any pictures?

  • No, got a second hand Easton CX fork instead (395mm a2c, 43mm rake, approx 53mm trail).

    BMW's geometry is;

    73.5 headtube, 32mm rake, and a whooping 65mm trail.

  • The axle-to-crown height is 410mm, and the rake is 32mm.

  • Yea knew it was quit similar geo, just wanted to see a picture.

  • Here's my old V2 with Easton EC70 X

  • Yea just considering carbon fork options for mine.
