i always dreamed of a gangsta, but i don't wanted to have those huge saddle-handlebar-drop like indra (i'm 6.3ft) i decided to buy a custom orlowski.
however, still a great workhorse/cx-frame.

That raw v1 is nice.
Do you have the forks? -
• #1207
Was your old one smaller Jere?
-
• #1208
TM, the older one was 50 and it went to another chap in exchange.
Yep I have the OG fork in black. I love the raw, especially the weldings looks imo good as hell:

Ive always been put off by that too

You have to remember though that indra has the most fucked up height to saddle height ratio ever....
-

You also have to remember, the BMW's fork is a lots longer at around 410mm, a CX fork is around 395mm.
My Short Gangsta have a 135mm headtube, to put it in perspective, if it were made to have a 395mm CX fork, the headtube would have to be around 150mm.

How tall are you and what is your inseam, Indra?

but the top tube measurement is the one that counts for me

I thought you were talking about saddle to bar drop or stack heigh
-
• #1216
That what I thought, the smaller headtube compensate for the really long fork.
-
• #1217
to be honest, i meant both (drop and tt)
-
• #1218
How tall are you and what is your inseam, Indra?
I'm about six foot one and inseam is a bit over 36 inches.

Ed did you ever get the kinesis pure cx fork when you used to have your brooklyn?? Have you got any pictures?
-
• #1221
No, got a second hand Easton CX fork instead (395mm a2c, 43mm rake, approx 53mm trail).
BMW's geometry is;
73.5 headtube, 32mm rake, and a whooping 65mm trail.
-
• #1222
The axle-to-crown height is 410mm, and the rake is 32mm.

Yea just considering carbon fork options for mine.
I rode Doktor P's gangsta... Pretty similar I think in terms of stiffness... The Donohue is tig'd oversize 853, it's pretty damn stiff.
I think the only advantages of the bmw would be that it took bigger tyres, and more resistant to dings/dents.
