  • Southern Spain in July reminded me of home. Only mid-30s, though in the sun closer to 40. It had cooled down a bit by the time I got to Portugal though.

    Justifiable ice cream weather.

  • I called my folks the other night and it sounded cold over there. Everyone has some kind of flu or chest infection or virus or some shit. Sounds like London. You're a good few degs warmer up there!

If my collarbone heals I'm riding Italy in August. 40+ come at me!

  • fuk this cold

  • We had a daytime max of 16°c today, coldest I can remember it, but still warmer than an average summer day in London.

The last couple of days have REALLY reminded me of back home, grey, wet, dark, horrible. I don't envy you.

I just bought tickets for Spain in late October, hoping for an Indian summer so I don't have to bring too many layers with me. When I was in London last October the weather was incredible, 30°c+!!!

  • Where in Spain? I was wearing shorts and tee during the day in winter but at night it was below zero. So depends if you're out at night or not. October would be more like a good UK summer, just with less rain.

  • Galicia, the seasons seem to have shifted over there, spring starting later with autumn going well into October. It'll be chilly at night, lots of moisture where we are, 400m up so lots of low cloud and rain, rain, rain!

  • Ah, fair, yeah it's wet as over there. :)

Good rain jacket though and that should suffice - keeps you dryish and warm enough.

  • places that aren't shitholes like the UK

    Citation needed.

  • I read that as the UK isn't a shithole, not places that aren't shitholes like the UK is.

  • Oh good, it's raining.

  • Typing gone down hill with one arm

  • shittest summer ever. I’m calling it. can the cold not just fuck off for a few weeks fs

  • you obviously are too young to remember 2007

  • What is going on in London today? Absolutely shitting it down in SE.

  • The skies weep with joy at the change of government.

Low pressure zone coming in from Cornwall parallel to the Channel. The heaviest clouds are yet to arrive.

  • Tipping it down.

    Send me back to Sevilla.

  • the tories have let off all of boris water cannons as their final act of sabotage

  • Fuk again.

  • Thoughts and prayers for people in south facing flats today.

  • God thanks 27 today

  • especially if they have no cross flow of air like a lot of modern shoeboxes.

  • Victorian terraced brick ovens aren’t much better.

  • Partners old flat was solid brick georgian flat that being on the end of terrace baked from morning to evening from 3 sides, i refused to stay there when it was above 25º it wouldn’t even cool down overnight.

currently arranging blinds/curtains/secondary glazing and using rudimentary physics to keep our 60’s flat cool which seems to be working, not had to get the fan out yet.

I don’t envy the flats in our block that are S/SW as they really do bake and some don’t have secondary glazing/internal insulation like we do plus the sun isn’t direct after about 2pm. SE/S facing.

  • I had a screen share today with a colleague who is in Iraq and he had a hot weather warning pop up
    on his desktop. 111F aka 44C !
    Be grateful.
