Thundersnow.
That was properly mad, it woke us up at 4:40am, like a huge explosion, bright flash right beforehand which made me open my eyes.

In 2003 I found myself literally inside a thundersnow storm in Switzerland. One of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I felt the lightning more than I heard it despite it being like a bomb going off. I remember feeling a shockwave hit my chest. Makes the hair stand up on the backs of my arms just thinking about it even now!

Was in Dartmouth Park Road could see the lightning down the side of my house and hear the cracking noises around it at same time.

Apple weather app says 50% chance of snow in London tomorrow early morning. Seems a bit too wet today though.

Glad to see the apocalypse aesthetic starting to happen. Really adds to the pandemic vibe.

No idea of the root cause but seems like bins haven't been emptied in a while round here.

I think it's more likely to be from dogs.

In Germany, naming weather systems is not the sole province of meteorologists. Anyone can participate: naming a sunny high costs €360 (£325), while rainy lows cost only €240.

It was a bit windy on my ride home, not as much rain as expected today plenty of time for that to change.
and @Ramsaye
(The Glory that is) Ruislip awoke not to an early evocation of a Dickensian Xmas,
but,
just more rain.
Luckily not enough rain to cause any more flooding:
