My garden has those cracks like the ones you get in deserts. The other day I held the hose over it for a good minute and it just kept absorbing. Some ground nesting bees emerged to see what was going on though.
Mad algae on the canal as well. Hoping we get some bonkers storms at the end of this.

It's absolutely tipping down up here! And serious lightning! Loving it!
For anyone else in a storm here's a map if you want to see where lightning is striking:
https://www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=en
It seems to miss quite a lot... but you can see roughly where a storm is heading
Edit: this one seems better http://en.blitzortung.org/live_lightning_maps.php?map=12
Edit: it's gone already, that was like a 20 minute storm

flipping heck. I'd have your arm off for a thunderstorm right about now. it was 32 degrees in my little girl's room at 10pm tonight. Sat there in the chair reading her stories with sweat dripping down my forehead, WHY WONT It STORM?!

Reminds me of when the first rains of autumn came in Australia.
People would go nuts, take their clothes off and run around in the streets.Nice breeze in Leyton atm.

Looks like we'll have enough for me to not have to water the plants tonight - been fighting a battle to save them for months.

Bloody lovely here in SE24. The kids and I went out to wash the cars between squalls and let the downpour rinse them off as we jumped up and down in puddles.
Apologies for diable pics.
