  • took the tube. just spent an hour waiting for a train at stockwell on account of the victoria line being closed.

    chump.

About an hour's worth of torrential rain heading for a direct hit on London. I'm staying in bed a while longer.

Now if I'd seen that 2 hours ago...

Actually made it about halfway before it hit, and anyway, I don't have the stay in bed option.

  • i waited at home until it brightened up a bit, then headed off from Forest Hill

the deluge resumed within 5 minutes and continued until I got to Holborn, when it paused again

mitts on top of monitor, cap on desk lamp, socks draped over edge of bin, other stuff draped around

    nice

  • ^ this also happened to me.

But I did fit my front mudguard over the weekend and also replaced the short tip on the rear mudguard for a full one with a mudflap flare so I felt slightly smug even as I became drenched.

  • It drawn to me recently that the part I least liked to get wet on is the saddle, so even if I'm mildly soaked, a warm dry saddle make all the difference in the world.

  • I slept through three alarms, dreamed I'd woken up and done some work, decided I should work from home as I was too tired to get up. Got up, Tube to work. It looked nice out there this morning and I'm upset that I missed it.

  • I have a heater under my desk.

  • Mitts and cap are now nice and dry, now I'm doing the antisocial bit: shoes on desk with anglepoise lamp heating them up.

    +10

  • Waiting for the next deluge on the way home.

Left the house at 9.30 and rode in under blue skies. Even considered stopping to take my jacket off but was running a bit late by then.

  • That is all fine, but you are not getting home dry unless you kip in the office.

  • very well then.

  • is it spring already? it was too warm for gloves and hat today.

  • Agreed. Had to stop and take my jacket off too. It's practically summer.

  • Totally overdressed this morning, fuck you weather, you promised rain!

  • Toooooo waaaaaarm!!

  • My first dry morning commute of 2014. Yay for me!

  • Congrats, incontinence is horrible, well done on making some progress.

  • Ha.

Are Rapha incontinence pants available in the Imperial Works club?

  • It's aspirational.

  • Pretty wild out there again, was planning to ride into town but that now looks very unlikely...

  • That wind is fun.

  • first two commutes of the new year, not that cold, but the wind and the rain have been epic.
also rather be too warm, than too cold.

also managed to get me socks down to just damp yesterday after the morning ride through the deluge.
