my shoes are summer ones and get wet through, they spend the evening on the radiator.

at the moment I spend my time riding between appointments, getting on and off the bike and getting soaked in the process.

it's a bit like being a courier, without the kudos or the guaranteed pay

Ah, mine are summer shoes too (I'm not buying winter-specific shoes!) get wet and then sit under my desk stinking, then get wet again on the way home and sit stinking near the heater until I put them on the next day, still wet and stinking. If it doesn't rain they take min. two days to dry.

need some sealskinz socks i reckon

I use polypro socks coz some mountaineering types scared me off cotton.. even though I still wear cheap t-shirts :)

bad points:
I think eventually the water will get in..after an hour or so in this weather.
The toes peel back and stick up when you walk, meaning you have to adjust them when you get back on the bike and also meaning that when you walk into the foyer of an estate agents, the cheap suited desk-monkeys look at you as if you are Commander Cunt of the Starship Cunt, from the Planet Cunt.

the cross wind was bad on the way in to uni... blowing me all over the place,quite dangerous i'd say.

Cross wind? I had a headwind for 10-miles coming in this morning. Feels like I rode 50.

And you can bet your ass that by 5:30pm the wind would have either died or changed direction!
